put a cheap red dot on my Century AK it has two bases I put the lower one on range report next week when it hits 60F just love making gong noises
I ran 80 rounds through the Century BFT47 today. So far 140 rounds with zero failures of any kind. 4 different types of Russian 7.62 it don’t care it just devours them. The jury is still out on this cheap $89 red dot 1X. I can group better with the open sights. Maybe I just have to get used to the dot I don’t know. I do have to repaint my AR500 steel plates. No paint left on em after 80 rounds.
That's the beauty of an AK. They will run whatever, dirty, Clean, doesn't matter. They don't have the accuracy of an AR, but because they are a gas piston gun and not a direct impingement gun like most AR's are they don't need to be kept as clean to operate like most AR's. I like Ak's for what they are, but at the price they are right now it's a ridiculous. When they were $400 that was about right. Now red dots.... Do you have astigmatism? If so red dots are horrible. Prismatic or holographic sights are better for those with astigmatism. This is a great read about this issue. AR-15 Red Dot Sights and Astigmatism
@Horkin do you remember Shotgun News? In the back pages you could by a Chinese Ak for $169 all day long!
According to your chart I do not. My view looks like the #1 pic. It only looks like #2 is if I turn it up all the way. But then it covers my steel so out of the ten settings I leave it on #5. I think I just have to get used to it. That link was a good read thanks.
Yes, I recall they were cheap. Not sure how inexpensive, but when they went over $400 that's where I drew the line as that's the build your own AR price point. Now the cheapest new AK I see is around 700, and that's a blemished one.
I still have stuff I bought from Shotgun News before there was internet. Order whatever you want and you would get your stuff shipped to you along with the original cashed check stapled to the receipt.....
Shotgun News caused much consternation to a newly married couple here in Wisconsin. She would ask do we need this? We must have sorted it out because she is still my bride pushing 42 years now.
Well the rest for my 6mm ARC project is all here now. Since the temperatures dropped significantly overnight, go out fire up the pellet stove in the garage and have another coffee while it warms up.
Ruger PC Carbine 9mm. In the box is a Glock mag well. I have plenty of Glock mags so that is the route I will go. I think Ruger was smart to give its customers the choice. Range report if the sun ever comes out. The Ruger mag does hold 17. Of course I had to count em.
I have an old model, it only cycles 124gr and up reliably. 115gr gets stove pipes and failures to feed.
New to me it's the only one I've ever fired Very well built as any cz I've owned or shot has been. By reading online it's one of the most popular pistol carbines there is. Really don't know that area well I've shot mp5s before I like the scorpion better.
Stopped at my friends range Shot the plate rack Another friends grandson gave him a new Springfield m1a We're going to line the scope up.
Smith& Wesson has the shield plus with a 50.00 discount And they were on sale at my local dealer So I bought one It's a little bit bigger than the gx4 But is very comfortable I do the the smith trigger better. I like both pistols Cats like that bench for some reason.
Do the kitties scatter when the bang bang starts? As many pieces of "equipment" as you seem to acquire, surprised you haven't posted a sig 365 version or hellcat? Any particular reason? Price, or other?
I don't shoot at home much They don't go far when I do. I usually go to my friends range and plate rack I just prefer the taurus and smith micro compacts Ergonomics nothing against sig or Springfield they're great pistols. The gx4 is very smooth because of the long frame rails and a very good trigger. I'm waiting on the sig p322 it looks to be a great .22 and I like the 20 rnds and flat face trigger you can put on.
I watched my friends range he was sick today A guy bought this cz Very nice pistol accurate and a nice trigger. But his reloads won't work at all he had hundreds of different weight He doesn't believe in crimping for some reason and he's an engineer.
