I bought a Canik TP9SF before most had heard of them and only came in FDE. My kind of ergonomics and an exceptional trigger (i'm lookin' at you Glock) for a striker fired. They offered to send me a "softer" recoil spring as there were complaints about being too stiff for less than +P ammo, but I never took them up on it. It was accurate, easy to handle and ate every thing I fed it, 100% reliably since I never had even 1 sort of malfunction. I even tested 3 different kinds of powder working up loads without a hiccup. I found a unheard of deal for a Beretta 92X RDO and had to act quick, so I sold it to the store fully intending to go get it back in a week but you can guess the rest... With todays (fill in the blank) climate I wasn't surprised but was disappointed. I don't have much in the way of striker fired anymore, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I wanted one.
Ammo prices are down a bit here 50.00 for 60rnds of sig I missed a sale a local place had 10.00 per box of 50 blazer 9mm fmj.
My neighbor bought some He didn't say I missed the sale myself I didn't get a chance to see them. But 10.00 is about component price just to reload now.
Was up to our cabin yesterday and after my chores were done went to the LGS. Bingo. I always wanted one of these. Ruger 44 mag carbine 1968 build date. She wears her scars proud but it functioned great today in below zero temps. That darn 3 x 9 variable is going to be removed soon. In my hands it’s a 100 yard truck gun no need for a big scope.
Nice score Those are rare now. An old fella I know used one of those for decades And a deer never got away from him.
Found some 44 mag 240 grain JSP at a gunshop about 5 miles from me today. Fiocchi. buck a round. I am $100 poorer!
yep bought a 7.62 x 39 made in Vermont not rusky first rounds go through it in the morning I inherited between 5000-6000 rounds of 7.62 x 39 let the games begin
I put 50 through it this morning. No hiccups and I didn’t shoot my eye out. Somewhat rapid fire so I got the barrel heated up good and started to bake some assembly oil out of the bayonet lug. Son wants to run these Saturday then I break it down and start sandpapering the wood. Gonna stain the maple somewhat darker and put on a more durable finish. Just like motorcycles I can’t leave nothing stock. Got a rail coming and a red dot from fleaBay.
We had a a guy in our deer camp that had one. Granted it was a front on neck shot at 25 yards, but it dropped like a sack of potatoes. 44 mag has great stopping power in short range.
For years I hunted a deer camp in northern Jackson County almost to Osseo? One of the landowners cousin from Athens Georgia came up every year. Used a Ruger 44 carb with open sights. That guy took home two deer every year never failed. We would bone them out the guy would take em to town and freeze the meat stuff coolers/suitcases and head back to Georgia. In the right hands a 44 mag is a great meat getter.
