Visited my friends range He bought a new walther ppk .22 today Hands down the most unreliable pistol I've ever fired. After cleaning and lubricating it I tried .22 federal automatch .22 Aguila superspeed .22 Winchester hi velocity 1425 fps .22 Remington golden bullet .22 federal champion .22 wolf match extra .22 cci mini mag At best 4 round would fire and cycle. Would not feed, extract or cycle reliably. The double action trigger pull Was off the 15lb trigger pull gauge Single was fine about 5lbs This thing was about 400.00 Only came with one mag Which was some of the issue. Seemed accurate We put about 300 through the tx.22 No malfunctions We also put 100 through the g3c
Shooting a pistol with a red dot Sighting your target with a red dot is a bit different than using iron sights. This video helped me greatly. You can skip the first 3 minutes and get to the instruction on using the dot if you like.
Never mind skipping the first few minutes... I had to rewind and listen again as I was distracted by her ...umm... gunbelt... Yeah, that's it, on her gunbelt...
I might get one eventually but I've spent too much lately on guns lol I know I'll like them but I enjoy iron sights For now. I'm getting ready to build a AR 15 pistol My gunsmith friend built three like this one It's 10.5 and a lot of fun to shoot.
I'm in sort of the same process, but with 18-20" 6MM ARC. Still in the research/learning/shopping phase, Christmas has taken it's toll on expendable income for a while.
Concerning AR Pistols; I realize those are classified as pistols but sighting your target is much different with those "hybrid" pistols as compared to drawing a pistol from holster or pocket and zeroing in on your target. I have a Mini 14 set up with a red dot forward mounted on the rifle. It's very different seeing target and firing that with my red dot mounted Canik 9mm pistol.
5.56 it's too pricey to run .300blk anymore They are 1.00 per locally Luckily I have some 5.56 already Maybe one day the prices will come down.
In my area I'm finding ammo prices have come way down. The only rounds that are still expensive are what I call the exotics, i.e. 10mm, 300, etc. I've been waiting to buy a 10mm '1911'. I buy guns to shoot them. The ammo price on 10mm has prevented me from purchasing said firearm. However, 9mm, 45acp, 556 and of course 22mm are readily available at prices that are pre-covid.
Not here overall fmj 9mm 22.00 per 50 .40 25.00 .45 30.00 per 50 Actually found 10mm for 29.00 per 50 5.56 11.00 per 20 .300 blk 20.00 per 20 But it's all readily available Online is the way to go I check gundeals often.
I haven't had to purchase any so I'm not sure what prices are around here. I learned my lesson from a previous president and those shortages. My wife and I, because we were shooting competitively locally, we are well stocked up. We haven't completed in 3 years now but plan on getting back into it this year maybe.
I found these 3/8 to picatinny adapters It's spring loaded and fits inside The rails And sandwiches to the 3/8 rail. It sits much lower than the other mount I had Feels solid I spun the rifle by the red dot to see if it would hold up No problem.
These fn start out at 1200.00 or so no thanks And I don't care for the ambi safety And the grip redesign. But girsan announced turkish clones For around 400.00 I'll get one of these until Springfield sa35 prices calm down.
Plus 1 on Canik. Compare the similar models of the more expensive FN's, Walther's and the like and I think you will become a fan. Canik also gives you a lot with their firearms.
That Canik looks huge..... I've never looked at/for one, will have to check one out. That vid of review on the Girsan was nice, wouldn't mind feeling one of those as well, which I imagine will be more difficult compared to the canik. I have no experience with the hi powers.
