My son shot a decent 8pt over on my neighbors farm the first evening. We put 10 miles under foot that morning up on the mountain with no luck. I hunted hard several days logging close to 25 miles on foot, hardly saw a deer. There is still another nice 8pt and two decent 6pts over on the farm, hoping to knock one down in muzzleloader season....I don't usually hunt the farm unless I'm really desperate, I like hoofing on the mountain.
I threatened to buy a Vortex Venom red dot today and I did, so figured I'd pass it along. Palmetto has them, use code "Venom" at checkout for $169.99 and shipping included. There are lots of other places that may or may not be questionable that sell for less, but then they want $20 for shipping. I'm happy and don't need to worry about it being a scam.
I need opinions here. My cuz gave me his Colt Frontier Scout Montana in single action 22LR upon his death. He bought it new in 1964 and never fired it. Would you guys fire it? It is very hard for me to own a gun and not play with it. Just because he didn’t shoot it does that mean I shouldn’t? We are shooters here not collectors.
I agree with you for the most part...most of my guns have been shot. I think one hasn't, but that just because I bought it just to have and just haven't shot it (Mosin nagant). But I'm thinking if it were me, I probably wouldn't shoot that pistol. It's made it a long time without. Then again, I might would look up the value and base it off that.
Beretta 92X RDO. Soon after I collect the plate and optic I ordered, think I'll go check out an indoor range to sight in the irons and put the Vortex on and get that sighted. Never been to a indoor range before but figured it's got heat which is in short supply outside at the moment.
I hit the indoor range often. I suggest to anyone who hasn't been to an indoor that your wear ear buds with muffs over them. It can get crazy loud depending on the firearm and caliber the shooters next to you are firing.
I haven't been to an indoor range since I was a teenager. Our savior troop was invited to the police station's range. The officer let me fire the 38 special, then with 1 357 mag Rd in the cylinder. That was fun. Kinda like Russian roulette, but a safe version.
Everything I have gets shot except for two safe queens (less than 250 made of these commemorative guns and I just can't bring myself to shoot them). I guess it depends on if you ever plan on selling the gun. This excerpt is right from the Blue Book of Gun Values regarding collectible guns: "NIB commemorative firearms should be absolutely new, unfired, and as issued, since any obvious use or wear removes it from collector status and lowers its value significantly." I have a 2014 edition of the Blue Book so the value of your gun may have gone up some since my edition was published, however for a 100% grade (unfired and appears as new) it lists your Colt Frontier Scout Montana 22LR at $595.00 (with only 2300 having been made). Would you actually get that amount at a sale? Only to someone who is looking for that specific gun. So if you never plan on selling it and don't care about the value, then fire away.
When shopping around for the Beretta (pictured above), I came across gun.deals site. With all the scams going on lately, I was bit skeptical at first as I hadn't used it before, but I had heard of it at least. I would have happily paid msrp at the store but they couldn't get one, so I got it from gun.deals for $598 and free 2 day shipping which is unheard of. With a msrp of $699 most places want at minimum full price and the majority want $750 or more plus shipping. Add my transfer fee at the store and it's pushing $800, so long story short I was pretty happy about it and I put the savings into the pot for the Vortex to put on it.
I've found a lot of stuff not just guns On there It used to be called slickguns for many years. It's like a forum People post available deals. If I had checked a couple months ago I would've got a Springfield sa35 For 560.00 plus shipping.
I'm on covid leave with covid so I quarantined to the range yesterday. I bought a Romeo 5 for my 6920 And lined it up These were the first shots at 50 yds The fake Bushnell trs25s I bought Turned out to be really nice I put one on a Mossberg .22 And shot 333 through my tx .22
If anyone is wondering These 10.00 amazon rails attach to .22 rails So you can run picatinny mount Scopes or red dots on them.
Well it seems my Colt Montana will have to make friends with a Colorado. I bought a 1966 model Colt Frontier Scout Colorado Gold Rush 22 LR today. My FFL guy should get it next week. Looks like this one dig the rosewood grips it’s only money I tell her
Part 2 of 3 ... Whatever is going on with Beretta I do not know, but supposedly they decided to finally get the optic plate on it's way to me. Unfortunately they sent it UPS so it will probably be a week to go 600mi. But anyway... PSA knows how to get it done and it is entirely refreshing to get a brand new unopened sealed product in the box without someone rifling through it beforehand. I have not owned or seen a mini red dot up close and personal before and it was something of a surprise just how small they are. It took me some time and internet search to figure out how to get the battery cap back on with the battery. All sorts of advice and most of it very much wrong. Once you understand what has to happen, and a trick or two it's easy enough.
I've never shot a pistol with a micro red dot But luckily I only have one pistol cut for a red dot canik sc Or I'm sure I'd have to have several of them After liking my ARs with red dots so much.
I like a leather holster and have bought many that were a disappointment Most were 70.00+ But many years ago I bought A outbags iwb Glock 23 holster off Amazon only 25.00 shipped I've used it for everything and it fits Great for these pistols The m&p with the thumb safety's is a bit tight but useable. I know it'll fit the one's they are designed for even better. I decided to order some more And I emailed the company about Their inventory. Within minutes they replied That's great customer service imho I'm ordering more and actually cheaper on their website They have a sale now and free shipping.
