    that Columbus Day thing? Turns out today must be Columbus Day. It was 34. something so I'm enjoying my morning coffee while incinerating a few pellets.

    A bit early, No(like about a month!)????

    I didn't even look at the stat this morning. But I did turn on the electric heat in the bathroom while taking the morning shower. But heck, We got a week till autumn begins! I usually have the stove on standby around October 1st. I best get it ready this weekend if I know whats good for me. Or a supply of aspirin JIC!!

    The colder temps have me getting the place ready for snow like it's gonna happen tomorrow. Don't really think that's gonna happen but... as they say in Maine, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute... I think the weather guy said snow in northern Maine and the mts tonite.

    We're still 98% green here. A little brownish on just a few trees. Typically, central & northern Maine are at full foliage between the end of Sept and Oct 15. Will let you know.

    Ayuh, a bit early for the long warmy hot to start. Supposed to be even cooler Thursday and Friday. Time to put the interior storms in upstairs, first I have to clean the windows.

    Each time we head out on the lake we see more and more color. Still 80% green, But the maples sure are pretty! Notice the one to my left is almost all color now. Last week it was only on top.

    I'm fighting turning on the stove. I got home a bit ago and I think that my choices are:

    1. Fire up the pellet stove.
    2. Make a fire in the wood stove.
    3. Sleep outside in a tent. In the rain.

    I'm leaning towards number 2. I don't want to start into the pellet stash yet.

    Broke down. Made a fire. 63 in the house is too cold.

    Shouldn't take long before I'm being told that it's too warm. :)
