Weather says mid 40's today and tomorrow. Guess I'll bring up some of that 3 year old red maple and save the ash and oak for the overnight burn. Maybe I'll even get into the woods today and cut something. But not before she has had her fill.

Sure wish it looked like that here.
Could finish up some fall projects.

That's exactly what I've been doing the last few days... Maple during the day, Hickory and Oak at night. Works well.

Ralphie Boy, there are many who are wishing they had that weather where they live! And good for you for letting the deer eat rather than scaring them off. We have 23 of them by the house right now. We love watching them.

Good on you for waiting on the oak and ash. That maple will do you just fine in this weather. That stuff grows back pretty fast too.

I still have another cord of the Red in the shed for spring, but I may use some more just like you.
It's what I do anyway. Works very well.

I had a bobcat and a coyote visit the wood pile last night, not at the same time I'm sure. They left tracks in the snow, The bobcat actually jumped up on my snow covered log pile and walked right along them. The stacks harbor a lot of field mice and their (mice) tracks are everywhere. The bobcats and coyotes are frequent visitors looking for a meal every winter.
