I have a couple idiot neighbors that have fox terriers. Let them run loose all the time and bark and bark and bark. Other neighbor said something about the dogs running loose, "we don't believe in having our dogs tied" One mysteriously died ( I think my neighbor may have had something to do with the mystery but he won't say) and one got hit by a car (go figure) Now we have an obnoxious puppy fox terrier that is worse than the previous 2. The dog has nipped at me once and barks constantly and the neighbors say nothing. I am waiting for the neighbors pitbull to take care of the little bas@ard or more "mystery" to happen in the neighborhood. I seem to naturally make friends with most dogs, but this one is not catching my dog whispererness or something.
I had reported him to the animal control. For barking and leash law. Now the have posted beware of dog up on their property. Wonder who else might of got tired of it.
.17mm =.0066 so I am guessing either .177"(4.5mm) air or 17 cal. (.172") rimfire or centerfire powder burner ( ya nit picking)
I had the opportunity to hunt them on a dairy for the owner. They can flat dig holes, and, one milker breaks her leg, she's done for. So, my brother and i really thinned them out for him. He loved seeing us come around, we used 223's and he didn't mind at all. When we'd shoot, the old girls on the grass would flinch a little, then go back to eating, they were pretty used to seeing us and being close by when we shot. Boy, we had a ball, we'd stay from friday night, till about 3 pm saturday, then go home, come back a couple of wks later and start all over again. It was a very target rich environment!!
mowing the field yesterday , left front wheel found GH hole had to use the bucket to push myself up and out. dumped a bunch of Clay in hole just so I could keep mowing . likely is already dug out, air mail packages are waiting. Little over 100 yards from back porch.
I'm on the hunt. Went out to pick pumpkins this morning and saw a bunch of leaves ate off a pumpkin plant. No deer tracks but they don't usually eat them. Found the remains of a pumpkin so I'm at war now.
I was at the local gun club last night and one of our block trap houses has a new tenant burrowing in front of the doors. I sat down there with my 1911 for about 15 mins and was waiting for him to give me a shot, no go. Next week will be 22 mag and a lawn chair.
Well another one bit the dust thanks to Holly. She has been waiting patiently over by the trailer for a few hours. And she brought it home to us.
Takes a good dog with a fighting heart to take out a groundhog that size. Many a dog gets mauled by a groundhog. Always enjoy a groundhog killing dog.
She took her first one out when she was 6 month old. I think she is up to 5. She is very patient and will lay near there hole and just wait.
That was a whopper of a groundhog, biggest I've seen her get. She came back to me and was panting like crazy, I made her drink some water and tried to calm her some, but she was intent on bringing me out to show me her 'prize'. I think she had an extreme adrenaline rush after that one, she was panting/breathing rapidly for quite a while. Did a check on her, no marks or injuries. I worry most when she wants to head snout first into a chuck-hole.
He watched that hole for 11 days before he caught it. He catches 3-4 a year. He's 9 and still caught 4 this year
