Door pics not so great but here's the start. I'm doing Grandma in semi-satin high heat…:eek:o_O:loco: … Yes, I'm gonna try to get a porcelain look, Coaly is probably cringing right now because he can feel the vibe of "EVERY" Fisher stove in existence :tears::picard:;). The Mrs. is going to do some tree and logo painting with 1200* boiler silver so we'll see how that looks. :dex: What's the worst can happen?...

Looks good Dave....you bring back good memories of the last refinishing of the old Fire Boss before I replaced it with the Buck. I used satin black high heat rustoleum and silver for the lettering and vent caps. This was the year I hooked it up to the liner instead of just a slammer.

Well, 8 hours on her today, lots of head way. My feet and back are killing me from rolling this old girl around. :(. Wifey did a "STELLER" job on the doors today! :dex::cool:. I finally got all the paint stripped, sanded the top, Her top was in real rough shape and pitted bad. I've been wanting to weld on a "pot rail" on the front lip, this keeps water from dripping down the front of the doors if the water pot boils over and just a safety thing for stirring soups and stews, pot can't move on the surface. Anyway, here's more pics and Grandma, got her top and front painted with the first coat. It's going slow but it's going!

Holy Crap Dave, your wife did an awesome job on those doors!
Looks tons better than I thought it would. Just shows ta' go ya', I have no eye for design.
I like the added lip too. You did a nice job on it.

Thanks Dave! Wife is gonna do a second coat tomorrow evening, I've been beating around the front rail for quite some time and it just made some sense to me… Anyway, it's going slow but going. I'm gonna try to get her fully painted tomorrow evening and then a second coat by the weekend. If all goes well I'll have her in and lit off by Halloween!. I just ordered new stainless pipe for the inside with a clean out "T" so I won't have to take the pipe apart when I clean the inside piece. :)

Grandma got some paint tonight, tomorrow I'll finish off the first coat all the way around. She's looking much better, even though it won't be like new, she'll turn a head or two when she's done. I'm hoping to get two full coats all the way around on her. Some of the pit marks are fairly deep and I sanded her pretty well, it is what it is! After all, she was made in March 1980 and she's been here since Sept of either 1980 or 1981, so a new dress is in order! :)
