I'm currently using silver that was split on Labor Day weekend of 14. The stuff measures low teens and burns clean with zero hissing. Not the greatest wood in the world but dries very very fast.
Got almost all of the split stuff stacked tonight before church. There was more than I thought...... Looks like it should stack out to around 2 cords when I'm done.
Here is what I did today, Mostly power line trimmings I picked up over the summer. A before and after.
Ended up getting off work a bit earlier than expected today and managed to get the rest split stacked and covered It ended up at 17x3x5.5 so right at 2 cords! This puts my total wood processed since April at 8.5 cords or just shy of the 10 cords I was hoping to put up. Can't remember what the old saying is but this dude was hanging out where I was splitting. Is this a hard or easy winter?
I've got more of those things around this year than I have ever seen and they are about the same colors as yours. It means it going to be cold and snowy from Thanksgiving until middle of May.....better up that # from 10 to 15 Certified.
Hmmm that's not what I wanted to hear about this winteelr lol. I'm already set for this year anyways so it can wait a few. I'm not sure o could even burn 10 cords in a heating season if I tried.
Saw one a couple days ago here. The brown stripe here is much smaller. So theory says we will have a milder winter than you will.
