Huge conservation success story in Michigan . They say if they could smell like deer can they would be extremely difficult to hunt .
I hear them in the woods around the house usually a few times a week and once in a while, catch sight of them as they come through the yard. Conservation efforts in NH have worked well over the last few decades, although in the northern part of the state, we only have an archery season in the fall (shotgun season in the spring).
We have a bunch that pass trough the yard pretty much daily. An interesting story about turkeys in New England. How Wild Turkeys Took Over New England | Audubon
X2 Thanks Warner for sharing. Pretty interesting comeback story. I never gave them much of a thought around here, since I always came across them my whole life, whether driving, hiking, or riding motorcycles.
