Wishing the best for you to get on down to your best there bud, surgery like you had is serious stuff , the older we get the longer it takes to recover, I hate crutches they suck, when my daughter had knee surgery she borrowed a walker and it worked pretty well, when I had knee surgery I used a little desk chair with wheels to propel myself around backwards in the house with my good leg.
Take your vitamins do your drugs and get well buddy:)

So sorry to hear the recover is so painful and long. It is had to looseat your autonomy, and to be dependent on someone else.
While this won't make it better, understand that I know first hand what it is like. You will get better, knowing that should help you stay motivated and work through the discomfort.

It is hard to see the improvements when you are dealing with so much pain but your wife can see the difference. hang in there and keep going. You know that everyone here on FHC is pulling for you.

I don't know anything about the pain you're experiencing Backwoods Savage, but I'm sure you will pull through it, sir!
As for "ornery," you mite need to re-assign your signature line to say something like "ornery hip surgery recipient husband of an awesome caring wife!"

I'm praying for your healing, Dennis (& your "ornery" wife, Judy, for her piece of mind!), like everyone else here in this great and inspired and caring forum!

And I'd rather use crutches than a walker. I used a walker the first day and the day after surgery then switched to crutches.

Hey guys and gals, today I walked 1/2 mile for the first time since surgery which was on 6/22. Yes, I can feel it...but happy to have accomplished it. We'll see what tonight and tomorrow brings.
