BTW, after you cleaned it out, did you try firing it?

That's pretty much all I'm planning to do right now. I already bought a couple cans of hi temp stove paint @ $3.88 each.

No, I took stuff apart and started cleaning it. Once I get everything in, I'm going to throw it together quick and fire it up before I start painting it. The only thing I didn't order yet is the comb. blower because I have a spare here to try in the meantime. If everything works, I'll have to order another spare for myself. So realistically at this point, I have about $65ish into it plus the $200 for the stove

We just finished the fire box. We Yanked the fire pot and primed it and put an ultra high temp Clear coat on. Then we put in a new High Temp white fire pot gasket and new Stainless Steel fire pot bolts. Then upgraded the broken Thermocouple hold down clip. :) The new clip holds the wire securely which prevents the wire from sliding out of the cover causing the stove not to keep running. :)

    Ok
I just put in the door gasket. If an OAK kit and OAK collar, the fresh air passes under the bottom of the stove. So it is good to have a clean stove bottom. :)
Now I have to paint the Quads Big dirty bottom!
Are you painting the Stove's Bottom?

I put gasket material around the bottom of the stove to seal it as it sits on the tile. There's also other points on the intake plenum that needs to get seal up so you're not pulling room air into the oak.

Well so far the stove works, just waiting for the convection blower to kick in.

Ran into a slight snafu but it looks like it will be fine. Under the burn pot there is the exhaust trap door on the stove itself not the one on the burn pot, that whole piece on the bottom was warped. The stove was so dirty I believe when they were dumped in the ash it was just staying in that plenum and I believe it got so hot it just wound up warping the metal piece. I straightened it out the best I could to get a good seal and I have a very healthy, active flame so it looks like it should be okay unless it warps again with the heat from the fire. Pics to follow later.

Stove still running good. Two of the convection wires must be reversed, hi is low and low is hi.

Next order of business is to let run for a good while to make sure all is well. After that take stove apart again, replace ashpan gasket, sand everything down and paint. It looks like I might be able to clean up the gold door. It's really "oxidized" in a few spots and where I tried to clean it the gold had really gotten a light lighter in color. I think I'm going to do the best I can on it and leave it. Not sure I want to get into painting the door unless I have too.

On a side note, there's another 1200 for sale about and hour away .......hmmmm lol

If the other stove is cheap then snag it!
    I just cleaned up a CB1200i for a friend.
We put the fresh air flex pipe up a few feet and then stuffed Roxul above the stove and house is tight as a drum! No drafts or heat loss up the chimney! Stil it does need an outlet with a ground! That is the reason for the red light!
