Went & cut more of the Silver Maple today, getting into the knarley dirty stuff now. Had to sharpen the chain on the 064 once. Tree had a split & the center has "stuff" in it. Hauled this back & hadn't even dumped it yet when.......... The neighbor stops by & asks if I burn Pine in my boiler. Yes I do, whatcha got? Somebody said they'd come get these Pine logs & never did, so off I go. Nice thing was A: they're quite dry & B: He loaded them with a tractor. Great addition to the shoulder season stacks.
Thank you, it was freakin 85 degrees out in the sun, but I'm about four jobs behind, so there I was sweating LOL.

Hotter there than here. I was splitting in the sun with no wind where I was and it was nice (but I did not work very long) 76 here.
Last load of the Maple, & a pic of my grandson dumping a load of Pine logs. I'm gonna make a wood cutter outta him I think.
I hope he has sharp teeth! All kidding aside, that's wonderful. You are a great influence for sure with your work ethic and wood cutting passion. I never had a grandfather (they both passed away prior to me being born), but my uncle who had no children of his own, and was like a grandfather i never had, gave me my first Stihl in 1985. He recognized my passion for making firewood!
Thanks Brad. He's got excellent parents to guide him as well, I'm just here to teach him the "fun" stuff. Every young man needs that one guy in life that'll take the time. Just trying to follow the example that was set for me.
