    Yea
A small lightweight saw would be a good addition with several uses,
    been thinking about something similar.
    On the wish-list :)

I hear Apple is a bear to split by hand though, doesn't know how to grow straight.

I figure my 61 is around 10-13 pounds, can get heavy after a while.

bogydave you deserve it-I use my 018 with 16" bar 80% of the time-a lot lighter than the Farm Boss and it rips!

I have to admit never even tried splitting it by hand , mostly all I do is cut the stuff up and start up the splitter

Apple has to be tough. I have a three story tall tree outback, at least 50yo, completely rotted out, but refuses to die or fall over. This year is made huge amazing apples. Tree is tough as nails.

Most fruit trees are tough trees. they may not be the densest but they survive through some tough stuff.

One day a storm will take it down and it'll be time to add it to the stacks.

I cut some major branches from my "standard" apple this spring. It split easily compared to my yard tree ash. There were a very few uglies that I gave up splitting by hand but most just fell apart. On the other hand, my yard tree ash required a sledge and wedge on about half of the rounds.

Never experienced it myself, just a rumor I'd heard from somewhere.
