Boy THATS the truth. I think the wood cutters down here think that the wood seasons in the truck on the way to my house.
When I first started burning wood and ran out of dry wood, I went to the local nursery and bought a bunch of wet wood. That was not pleasant. I also bought wood from a company that touts "kiln-dried" and yet the wood sizzled so much you could see water come out of the sides of every split. After that I bought wood from the tree service company that did some work for us......and had it delivered in January or February and stacked it myself on the driveway. If you're going to buy wood I'd suggest getting it a year before you plan on using it. That way, even if it is 25%, you give it a chance to dry out. And if you have the space, I'd buy for 2+ years down the road.
