correct, everything was a bolt on application. Yeah they jack came with and is used to level Nd stabilize it so the splitter doesn’t flip up.
Wanted to add, Because this was a concern for me. I have lifted and or pulled enough logs to split about roughly 2 cord of green oak. I took the battery out of my lawnmower and I’ve been using that until I get a dedicated one for the left. Put the battery on the charger this afternoon and it was at 25% capacity. I did not think a lawn and garden battery would last long enough to do any good but I was obviously wrong!
I'm restarting an old thread because I'm looking at the Golillabac now. I think the OP is still around... After a year, how is it doing for you? What do you like and not like about it? I'm also looking at getting the pickup adapter for it. Thanks
So, this pickup adaptor, is this a totally separate use such that you can lift rounds into your truck with this thing? EDIT: And, if so, is there any way you could swing it such that you could load rounds into a trailer positioned next to the truck? EDIT2: Yep, it is. Not sure about swinging into a trailer. That would be so awesome! Hmmm... heck, weld a receiver hitch onto the trailer! I gotta have one. Link:
I believe Mykidsdadd has another thread on here where he talks about the gorillabac and has a few pics. The thread was active a few weeks ago, but don't remember the name, try searching.
Yep, thanks Eric VW, the trailer one is the one I was thinking of, I believe. That's the one with a sad and disappointing part, and then Lassie saves the day!
Hey guys , so yeah - I still LOVE this thing and use it anytime I am loading or splitting wood. The adaptor is separate and is perfect for loading or unloading truck. The trailer I built has a receiver i welded on the back for loading trailer. I also , instead of moving lift to splitter, position splitter at back of truck or trailer and swing big rounds right out of truck or trailer on to splitter. A very versatile piece of equipment and could not imagine going back to not having it. The company is a small family owned operation and the guy that answers the phone has never been anything but great to work with. I can’t think of any cons. Actually not true. When I had to replace winch due to my mishap last month I put a 2500# with wireless remote. Absolute game changer over the one that came with it. You can palm the remote and have both hands available to position wood or whatever. Much easier than the one that came with it. I told the guy that builds these to consider that so maybe he will go that way in the future. Worth another 75-80 to replace winch in my opinion.
Thanks for all of the info here! Since I'm not getting any younger, I want something to lift those heavier pieces. Noodling doesn't do it for me. Other than a new splitter with a log lift, which I can't really justify right now, this seems like the best option. I addition, I can use it to lift chunks into my truck. I like to find scrounges that don't have a lot of big pieces, but those are getting harder to find. I may just be ordering my Christmas present today!
This was my exact mentality when i purchased. I was kicking around a lot of options but this one made the most sense with all the versatility it provided. You won’t regret it I promise!
