We picked up his ashes and flag (Air Force) on Friday, now he is back home with Mom. She is getting by, but I can tell it's very hard. Saying goodbye to your dad is one of the toughest things you have to do in life. Even if it it is expected to happen it seems like it still catches you off guard somewhat.

Yes, I believe you are correct. Time. We were both big Larry McMurtry fans. Just like Gus did with Call, Dad gave us one last adventure to go on with him. He wants his ashes spread on the ranch where he grew up, a couple of thousand miles away. Will really be the best thing for Mom, and maybe me, too.
