If you are talking about the world's former biggest burl, it is in our town. Here is some info on it.

Sitting in our RV tonight. We decided to come down today and stay over the weekend and go home on Sunday. I hope it doesn't rain too hard tomorrow.

    Good morning, folks.

Clear and cold to start the day.

Lots of coals for easy fire-up in the stove.

More post-thanksgiving clean up today. Including the boiling of the turkey carcass for soup.

    Stay safe

Chilly outside but not as cold as expected. Temp will drop more by dawn then it sounds like we mat get some snow but not enough to force us to shove it around.

Two really 8 point buck were shot yesterday close to our property.

mat60, if you read this you will recall me mentioning a couple shots when we were talking on the phone yesterday. One was just over the ridge behind the house. He brought it so I could see it as did another friend who got his very close to our property lines. Both od these deer were very nice and one had a big body like my 10 pointer had.

Good morning! 28F getting up near 40F today. Got about 20% of the decorating done yesterday so it continues today. Sorted through pallets so now I'll build 2 racks plus I need to fix the latch on my tailgate. Have a God day!

Good morning everyone! There's a crust of ice on the deck from some wet snow we got last night. It's a breezy, chilly, gray November day. I'm burning wood all day long now, still just poplar, pine, and a little ash.
There's still wood in the driveway that needs splitting. If not today, my grandson will help me tomorrow.
Time to lean into the inevitable! CNTpIzM.jpeg
    Have fun today!

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a SUPER SATURDAY. It was 26° this morning as I was leaving for work, had a nice bed of coals in the stove, 74° inside, added a cull split at the back and chunkies in the front, relit easily.
Beautiful blue sky day. Quiet day at work, so far.
Meeting a guy from a hunting camp after work, following me to the woodyard to get some campfire wood and chunks.
Be blessed and be a blessing. Share your light for JESUS.
    GOD LOVES YOU AND ME

Morning All. Overcast and drizzly out there. I hope it doesn't turn into anything more serious. Funeral to go to today so we came down here and are staying in the RV for the weekend.

The three Hebrew men in a strange land (Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) stood tall for God. Will we do the same?

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3: 17, 18

    Happy Sabbath everyone.

Good afternoon all. Had light snow flurries I yesterday into this morning. Ended up with maybe an inch and a half.
Ground is finally starting to freeze. Brother came up a little bit ago. Had to put it 4 wheel drive /o get up the driveway. Mud causing issues. Chaz is done deer hunting for the year. Got a half cow this week and that finished up the freezer space.
    Have a good day all.

Are you saying Chaz went deer hunting and shot half of the cow?

Was he hunting on a farm? Did the other half get away?

Inquiring minds want to know. :)

    Cold and clear to start.

Not too sure what's up for today, aside from football this afternoon.

Good morning everyone! 24° this morning. I've switched to oak for the time being.
My grandson is coming up as usual. It will get up to 40°, so I'll get him outside for awhile this afternoon to split some wood. He's such a little man now.
The turkey leftovers are being steadily consumed. My diet is on hold. There's never enough gravy, is there? QSqoMSh.jpg
    Happy Sunday!

30 degrees here today , stove burning and coffee time.

Not sure what's happening today other than some cooking this afternoon; Ham and homemade Mac&Cheese is on the menu. The Mrs has been craving a Ham so that is an easy one plus it makes good leftovers for the week and a batch of Pea soup from the bone at the end.
Other than that I have no clue what is up today.
    Have a great day gang.

    Mmmm split pea soup.

I'll take the leftover bone, and boil it for a few hours. I remove the bone and let the broth sit in the fridge overnight. I'll remove any fat that firms up, the next morning. It's that broth that I'll use to make the soup. If there's not enough leftover ham, I'll cube up a ham steak.

With a piece of cornbread on a cold day, the soup is very comforting.
