EF1 tornado last night about 60+ miles from here. All we got was .85 inches of rain with a garden variety thunderstorm.

 

Good afternoon! Cloudy all day with occasional sprinkles. Weather doesn't look promising for outdoor work tonight but might get a little splitting done. We'll see. If not, I have a printer to fix (I'm not an electronics expert). Have a God day!

There's a forecast of scattered showers. I hope they pass by us. I'm planning to get my walk in, behind the lawnmower this morning.

Good morning everyone! Plumber coming today, to install an inline water filter, and replace the washing machine taps, which are corroded. My task this morning will be to move a bookshelf & books, adjacent to the main water pipe in the basement. It will be a good opportunity to donate most of them.
I have to pick tomatoes, grapes, and peppers before the rainy spell starts. And cover some little stacks as well.
Hope Woodwidow is having a fun road trip! Scouting for any new wood collecting areas?

Sunday night we had a ceremonial first fire. I wanted to do a 500° break-in (good thing we did!) But we spent the time listing our gratitudes regarding wood heat. We'd asked God for safety in having open fire in the house, to keep us safe wood hauling, burning, etc.

We have saved money running a wood stove, we are warm and comfortable during winters now, we have had only minor smoke incidents (someone pulled a hot coal into the dog-fur filled vacuum), this is my first time CSS my own wood: we successfully burned it (it seasoned well enough). With zero injuries or incidents we have hauled and CSS 34 cord since July of '19. We have given 5 or 6 of that away in the past. We filled out our 3 year plan this year!!! 26 cord CSS, 14+ of that this season. At the estimated use of 8/yr, we have 2 cord against our 4th year.

Just in heating alone, we have a lot to be greatful for, His provision of it, our ability to do it.

I think a ceremonial first fire will be part of our annual agenda. Neither of us thought to do communion, but that would have fit.

Good morning yall. Hope y'all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY. 70° this morning, headed to the woodyard, need to finish the trailer load and get it delivered. Heard some thunder last night, very little rain here, radar showed red where I work, glad I was home. Tree service dropped off another load of oak yesterday.

Good afternoon! Rain all day and much cooler. Just damp enough to give a bit of a chill. Not much happening outside this week. I went home at lunch to find a tree down across part of my driveway. I went to the barn and grabbed my battery saw to cut the top off giving me room to pass. If it dries up a bit I'll get it limbed tonight and buck it up this weekend. Got a set of mirrors to put on the skid steer so that should greatly improve rear visibility. Have a God day!

Taking dad to have some liquid removed from a lung. A syringe is used, from the back. Poor guy. He seems to be visiting doctors multiple times a week.
