On the bright side, we have had more time to ,,,...
We had a lot of rain last year and spent most of the summer keeping grass cut for folks.

 

Afternoon all. Mid 70s here. Just started raining. Something has Holly's attention as she is laying on the rain looking. Huh, I think it is done raining. That was quick. Have a great day everybody.

 

Last Friday was a killer. Temp was 97 and the dewpoint was 80. Heat index of 117. We also had minus 40 this past winter. I guess it all balances out.

 

That's some big swings...we have had temps that hot or a bit above, y'all can keep that much cold up there...y'all can pick on me this winter...

 

This year we have gone from a low of -28f to a high of 98f in the Mpls area of MN. At our old homestead in northern MN is was even more drastic with lows of -45f (or colder) to highs pushing the low 90s. Besides Moscow, I heard from one of our local meteorologists that we get the biggest temp swings in the world for a metropolitan area. Personally I love the extremes we get here. It is not for everyone however. Now we are in a perfect stretch of weather with highs around 80f and not much humidity at all, plus some nice W/NW breezes. Windows are open at night with lows around 60f. This is occurring after ample July rains so plants are thriving, and the lawns are lush green. However the mosquitos are numerous and ravenous.

 

With the wild swings of temps and weather during the year, it constantly gives us something new to complain about (too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry) and something good to look forward to with the changing of the seasons.

 

Good morning everyone! We have a stretch of low humidity to enjoy through the weekend. Looks like yard work is back on the menu! Yesterday while it rained I filed papers, good thing I did because I found that I had a deadline coming up, to file a form for my mom's estate.
Cape Cod had a tornado yesterday, with lots of trees down. We didn't even get any wind. Lots of black locust behind this guy.

Had a nice rain shower yesterday afternoon/evening, cooled things down a bit. Had a nice drive to work this morning, window down, 66°, low humidity... Midwinter ...

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TREMENDOUS THURSDAY. It's Friday for me...yay...7 days off...looks to be decent weather. Nice 61° on the way to work this morning. Humidity is still low, so that's a big blessing. Got a new water level controller put in the pool yesterday evening, split a few rounds, one of the big crotch hickory, that takes some time...my hunny on break, waiting on me. life is blessed in Goat Town.
May GOD pour HIS BLESSINGS on y'all today.

Good morning everyone! I already have enough for a dump run this AM, I trimmed back the neighbor's wisteria that was growing on the chainlink along the property line. This time of year I can't keep up with the weeds and undergrowth.
I got the shingles vaccine, and it made me feel a little achy yesterday. I did manage to get the last of the wood in the driveway split. I'm hoping some of it will get gone this weekend. I have plans for the racks that it's on.
Summer is slipping away. Lots left to do. I can't imagine going on vacation.
