Morning All. Rainy outside again. We are working on a plan to move the boiler inside but not in the rain. If the pattern holds, it should clear up by noon for awhile. Until that happens, I hope to finish the last dogs snow suit. I have about 1/2 hr. work on it. Cricket really doesn't like me trying it on her for fit. I really want to get working on the baby quilt I started last Nov. and get it finished and get it to the parents.

    Everyone have a great day.

Ha,ha, this post reminds me of the ''rain coat'' i made for our dog, he was a good looking doxin, and about 22lbs not fat at all. He and i would go walking in the late night/ early morning hours when i had my knee surgery. Well we live in the PNW so it was raining a lot during that time of the year. I took a heavy duty yellow garbage bag, and some how actually made a really neat rain coat for him!! Complete with a built in rain hat. and a chin strap, and a strap around his chest to hold it on. lol. He didn't like it at first, but, when he realized it meant we were going downtown for a walk he changed his mind. We really had some great late at night/ early morning walks in the rain. He stayed warm and actually pretty dry, that was the plan. I sure miss that dog. but, have another only he's a bigger doxie, a standard. You'll have to post a picture of the ''snow suit''

I have made several outfits for the dogs as they don't have any down hair - just guard hairs so they get pretty cold fast. The snow suits are the warmest I have made so far. This picture shows Cricket in a bought raincoat and Shadow (grey dog) in one I made from a pattern off the other one. When it got cold, I would put T shirt tops on them under the raincoats. Cricket actually needs a new raincoat as this one is getting pretty raggedy. Once the snow suits are finished, I will post a picture. A doxin dog would be quite the challenge to make a coat for. Cricket wouldn't stand for a hat though. Her ears always stay straight up.

The rain was done early Saturday afternoon. We ended up with about 1.5inches of rain. Would have been crippling to the area if it were all snow.

My neighbor's efforts to better control drainage, seems to be paying off. The drainage trench he had dug, carries the majority of runoff away from our property, towards some storm drains.

Praise the Lord. We didn't get extra human help but with the Lord's help, the new boiler is inside the basement and we didn't roll it or drop it. I will be starting a thread sometime later. Now to re-install the patio door frame and doors.

Well, thanks - I think - lol We were going to just put plywood up over the door opening but then realized it would be the same amount of time to put the doors back in. Shives, insulation, trim and siding needs to be put back around the frame but that can wait until tomorrow.

Spent the afternoon and evening watching football.

Good morning everyone! Looks like it'll be a nice day, so I'll split some sugar maple. Also move some more wood into the basement. Errands to do as well. I'll be scouting the dump for more soft wood for splitting practice, too. uHgoFKd.jpg Have a good Monday!
