Thanks for the compliments. As usual, I am my own worst critic so I won't point out the problems. It wouldn't have taken as long as it did but I was trying to fit it into visits to Mom and the ferry schedule. Next I am making curtains for her but I can do that all at home.

I’m good. The fish? Traumatized! My friend and I finished by 9 am. This is probably the last time for redear til March. Just about time for the crappie to take some punishment...

I think we used to coat them in flour, salt and pepper and fry in butter. It has been like 25 years or more since I had them.

Good day, sister. Glad to hear Holly is well. Would have been nice to get a score on the wood so close to home. Glad you got some wood split and stacked.

Nice job! Your mom must like cheerful colors. I see the turquoise Afghan on the right. That will really look nice on the couch!

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was on the cool side, so I got two bushes trimmed. More of that today. I got the word from Dave that the logger is just about finished, and is leaving behind lots of limbs. I'll go out to Winchester to scope it out next week.
My son smelled gas out on his street in MA yesterday, and called the gas company. Turns out there was a gas leak at the end of the cul-de-sac! Those are his brick stairs on the left. IMG_20200808_062947.jpg Have a safe day!
(I got my son and DIL to call the power company twice about that elm hanging over the lines. Answer both times, "It's fine".)

Good morning everyone. Coffee's taste good. Time for another one.
Looks like we are going to be back in the 80s again for awhile.
    Had a bonfire last night.
Believe were putting the tractor and myself to work today on the elm. We are hoping it is dry enough to put on this winter's pile.
    Have a good weekend everyone.
    Stay safe and stay healthy.

    Glad nobody struck a match...
The utilities don't want to bother with anything until it tears the lines down.

Well not necessarily true. We have called the power company twice and each time after they looked at it they had someone out here to take the trees down.

The utilities around here, have spent the past several months, proactively taking trees down, near lines.

Some will and some won't. We tried to get GA Power to take down a few tall 16-18" skinny pines next to the hi power transmission line...their response, "we will clean it up and fix the line when they fall...
I used the tractor and took them down myself

this all started when I steamed cleaned the carpets and furniture. these chairs and the rocker were my great grandparents. My grandparents re-upholstered them about 70 years ago and my cleaning rather disintegrated the fabric. Our Fabricland is having a clearing out sale before doing a major renovation. I found out that Mom didn't really like the gold colour of the bed chesterfield and now the cats have done a number on the arms. so I thought - hey, I will get some fabric and make new covers. This fabric was the only thing that would fit with the rest of the house and had a major sale price. yes, Mom loves her colours. Pink walls in the living/dining room, blue walls in the kitchen and peach walls in her bedroom.

Good morning everyone! My grandson's coming up today for some swimming, it'll be a good hot day for that. We're headed back into the 90's for a few days.
It felt good to hoard and split a little firewood yesterday. I'm looking forward to doing more as the weather gets cooler. One of our friends needs some dry wood for this winter, and I've got the perfect stack, 3 summers on it, if he can get here with a big enough truck. That would free up a lot of space, always a motivation to make more firewood! yojNdHY.jpg
    Have a good Sunday!

    Good morning, folks.

Nothing all that exciting going on. Another hot humid day here. With several more lined up. Ugh

I'll be loading up the van for an early departure Monday morning. I'll be heading to the Cape Cod Canal, hoping to catch the Mayflower II going through. I'll also have my fishing gear, in the event things are looking fishy.

Time to open up your oak vault? If I recall correctly, it's been about 3yrs.
