Good morning all! HOT here. Been working on the bush hog and hope to get in and mow a pasture yet today. After rinsing calves hope to mow mom's yard before switching to pastures. Stay hydrated, stay safe and healthy.

It is threatening to rain all week but yesterday was great. FIRST real day of holidays. Going to spend time in the garden and the sewing room. Have a great day everyone.

Well as the morning progresses, we have blue sky in the west so I will attempt to get clothes dry on the line this morning. they smell so nice when they come back in.

I have another 50 up at our garden up north that will be pulled at the beginning of August.

We finished the 2019 crop a month or so ago, then just finished up the scapes yesterday.

Just an hour ago I used a head of fresh 2020 garlic, along with a pound of venison Italian sausage, and a zucchini to augment my spaghetti sauce (canned 2019).

300 total garlic is enough to give some away, save some for planting in October, and enough for eating for my family for a year.

Best part is, instead of a few cloves, I often use a whole head. We love our garlic! I would say along with our canned tomato sauces, it is our most cherished garden staple.

My favorite variety is Music. Something like $13.00 a pound at the farm stand. I have to start growing my own too!

You really should grow your own Midwinter. Music is my white garlic. I also have German Red and Spanish Roja. These are what I started with 6 of so years ago anyways. I don't segregate plantings anymore. I simply save enough of my biggest heads to plant in fall, regardless of type. Once you do this for a few years you will will develop healthy harvests of garlic which has been adapted to your particular ground.

    Good morning.

Nothing exciting on the agenda for today, or the rest of the week. High humidity returns today. That just sucks the life out of me.

    Stay safe
    Stay healthy

Good morning everyone! I got my hair cut short for the first time since March! I really needed it. 4Tufisu.jpg
I'll try to do a little outside before it gets too sticky. Thunderstorms expected this afternoon. Firewood making is on hiatus, all I can manage is weeding.
    Stay cool, everyone!

A little bit of GA out there. Be careful, especially if you aren't used to it.

No, that med doesn't help, H20 and Power/Gator ade helps. Make sure you drink a bottle about every 1/2 hr at least. Work early and late if possible, fans help too.

In the '70's after I had severe dehydration and double pneumonia, I had to take salt tablets in the summer. Wonder if that is why I have high blood pressure now? Be careful, if I get really dried out, I soak in the tub with cool water. Power Ade is my go to drink now. Hope you are feeling better.

Good morning all! We got 1/4 of an inch of rain yesterday afternoon! I got the pin on the yoke fixed yesterday so last evening went out and mowed about 4 acres of pasture. Mowed mom's yard in the morning, had to quit due to heat. Be safe and stay healthy.

PS, forgot to add, let's all put Backwoods Savage in our prayers.

yea, was drinking enough water. Didn’t have Gatorade at the house..... but I’m stocked up now... Yea, Dad came up and helped me butcher the 14 chickens. Had two fans and one of those canopies over head... we were done by 12:30. But we were down to the last 5 and I started to cramp.... that really sucks bending over trying to pluck feathers...:picard:...

Morning all. Rain and fog here this morning. I thought I was going to have to water the garden today as all the rain they have been predicting for the last week and half didn't materialize. Indoor day today. Really making inroads on the sewing room organization.

    Everyone have a good day.
