People have been using money to buy their way out of problems for centuries. No, millennia. Money can buy good attorneys, silence accusers and whistle-blowers, bribe officials, demand preferential treatment, hire “fixers,” and pay off rivals.

Mothers and fathers might choose to define being good providers in their home as bringing in enough money. But a family has needs greater than great food and comfortable lodging: “Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife” (Proverbs 17:1). A bitter spirit in your home can destroy all the joy. You know, you may have to work harder at family relationships than at your job.

Satan hates families because they represent everything that he will never have—trust, love, and security. All he knows is hatred, envy, fear, and grudges, and he will plant those evil seeds wherever he can. On a scale of 1 to 10, what is the strife level in your home right now? What is your plan to lower it?

Here are four steps: 1) Decide to be a servant leader and go first in taking responsibility for things you’ve said or done wrong. Apologize without rationalizations. Dare to model personal accountability especially in front of your children. 2) Ask questions and listen, rather than giving sermons justifying yourself. 3) Work your brain and come up with three things you appreciate about each family member and say them out loud in front of an audience. 4) Hold hands and pray together

Just lots of bees, bugs and birds of all types, worms, and a few toads. Sometimes the odd raccoon or baby bunny gets into the main garden. Gray squirrels come, but often don't last long. My pest mitigation efforts keep things in check.

At our garden up north we have seen moose, deer and bears, among other critters. When we lived there we had a Chesapeake lab yard dog which steadfastly defended the garden. Now it is fencing and luck year to year.

Good morning all. Took cans back to the redemption center today. He had a stack of plastic pallets. Asked the owner and couldn't let me have the as he has to pay for them. He has his staff watch for customers to pull in and they come out and bring the empties in. Since virus the couple of times I have gone down, haven't had to get out of the truck. They get the and, bring my beer out to the truck, take my card and bring that back along with a receipt. They even supply you bags if you ask. The bags hold about 300 cans.
Have a great Friday and stay safe and healthy.

Good Saturday morning indeed. It is 65f and flat calm this morning.

I haven't been out on the lake in two weeks. Most fish should be done spawning and out on the weed lines. We'll see if one or both of our boys wake up.

    Good morning, folks.

A warm, muggy morning today. Several more ahead. Yuk.

Coffee tastes good. Gooder with my butt in my own recliner, watching the rising sunlight, through filtered trees.

    Stay safe
    Stay healthy

Good morning everyone! Hot or not, I'm off to Winchester today. Loading shouldn't be bad, it's cooler in the woods, but unloading will require many pool breaks! Maybe I'll save that part until tomorrow. iv4eM0L.jpg
I need a haircut as bad as this cat does!
    Have a fun day!

Your pool will feel very refreshing, I'm sure.

No wooding for me, for a while.

Good morning all. Another HOT day expected today. Mowed perimeters of a pasture and a hayfield yesterday. Deer have gotten lazy and are hitting the top strand of the high tensile fence. So have some repair to do before turning the mule and draft pony out in a new pasture. Still rinsing the grandkids 3 calves twice daily and moving to stanchions for grain and then back to corral for night. Going to grind some bologna today and make a bologna sandwich spread which is always delicious on a cracker or slice of bread. Everyone have a great weekend, stay safe and healthy.

My son and I were done with 35 nice bluegill by 6:30 AM. They are cleaned, bagged and the remains are going to soon be incorporated in the my hot aerobic garden compost inferno/pile.

Been up and had breakfast and then decided no walk. Supposed to rain today but it is nice out there now. Fog has been boiling around, lifting and settling in different places. Quite fascinating to watch. Shadow is wearing a cone as she has licked her back paw raw between the pads. Slows her down some. Every one had a great day and remember: This is the day that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.

We buy bulk bologna and today we are using 1/2 of a 5lb package/tube. So 2.5 lbs of bologna mixed and ground together with 5-7 hard boiled eggs (peeled of course), a whole onion quartered to better fit into the grinder, 1/2 jar of sliced dill pickles and probably 5 or 10 slices of American cheese. After these items are mixed and ground together she adds Miracle Whip. Refrigerate and consume. This recipe is not dictated by measurement, more by looks and taste. Wonderful chip dip, on crackers or on a slice of bread. Great cool/cold sandwich on a hot day.
