Good morning everyone! A mini thaw here for 2 days and then the Arctic blast hits Sunday night. I have a little prep to do. Even this cold doesn't look to be extreme for this area.

Heat wave here today. 27⁰/44⁰ rain this afternoon. accumulating snow Sunday night. Winter returns on Monday with overnight temps in single digits.

I'll be going for a walk this morning.

I'll probably fire up the snowblowers ahead of possibly needing them Monday morning.

Bruins on at 3pm.

Good morning. It is 10f, with much colder air moving in.

 

Morning all. Just at freezing here. We have a couple of nice days predicted for us with freezing at night and sunny days.

God's new creation was perfect in all its ways. Adam and Eve enjoyed their new home and together explored everywhere. Unfortunately one day, Eve ventured off on her own. Out of love, God had given Adam and Eve the choice to make decisions. They were free to make choices for good or for evil. Eve, and then Adam, made a choice to doubt God and disobey his one request. We sadly have the results of those choices still with us today. BUT there is hope. From the foundations of creation, provision was made to rescue mankind and save him. Jesus came and paid the penalty of sin for us. Please accept the gift of salvation today.

Pigs are so happy, it's generally very delightful watching them live their happy blissful piggy lives.

 

Good afternoon, ya'll. Hope ya'll have had a SUPER SATURDAY. Rain most of the day, work has been a PITA...started our NG curtailment at 10AM, started fine, then had problems with our propane mixer...just been a day....
But, this too, shall pass...

Good morning. Some of us are up awful early…or are still awake from yesterday. I fell asleep during the game shortly after the 2nd half was getting going…saw the writing on the wall. Anyways, it is -10f, but not as windy as yesterday morning.

 

Good morning everyone! It's a balmy 32 outside and dropping. A cold 4 or 5 days ahead. I'm going to resize a bunch of black locust chunks and put them in the garage to burn during the day for the next few.

It's supposed to snow tonight into Monday. 5-10 inches forecasted. Supposed to start mid-afternoon. decent day until then 32⁰/42⁰ snow prep will take place today.

I was able to start my snowblowers yesterday, with one good pull. I was happy for that!

Wood will definitely be brought to the deck this morning. With single digits overnight this coming week, I'll be sure to bring up some black locust, like theburtman . Where the stove is in the living room, we'll burn mostly red oak during the day. Easy reload. BL will mix with RO for overnight.

As I move wood, I'll be on the watch for anything that might lock up the snowblower. Sticks and what-not as I clear snow for a path to the woodyard and compost bins.

With cold and snow arriving tonight, Mrs MikeInMa and I will head out for breakfast today.

We will also park our vehicles away from there normal spots. That affords me to clear snow from that area without the vehicles in the way.

Planning to rest today, and hopefully go to church this morning.....we got a dusting of snow overnight so the may have canceled again.

Higgins and Chester have pretty much accepted Nebuchadnezzar into the family.

 

Morning all. Marine strata overcast with blue sky peaking through. Right at freezing when I got up but it is warming up. I don't know if we are going to get wind. Supposed to be a nice day. The nights are predicted to be just below freezing for the next couple of days.
Chores, bookkeeping, curling finals and football. Unusual game last night but entertaining until the last quarter. We were cheering the Lions on but I think the best team won.

MikeInMa The Bruins look to be doing what the Canucks are doing - nothing to improve their game.

Good morning. -12f. Helping my wife with errands this morning, then watching the inauguration by the fireplace. I have a nice sized walleye from yesterday for our dinner tonight, and for leftovers tomorrow at work.

 

Good morning everyone! Blue flames on the black locust in the stove. 11 out.
Dr. appointment to do blood work and discuss blood pressure. I'm fasting so I'm glad I drink my coffee black. After that home for a big breakfast and watch inauguration.

 

Good snowy morning, members.

Snow on the deck measures 5", with a ruler. I'm ok with the amount. Doesn't look too heavy.

Looking forward to getting out and start moving it. It is cold with a bit of a breeze. 17⁰ here currently. Mid-20's later.

We have no need to head out today. I should have most everything cleaned up in time to enjoy the inauguration coverage.

Minimal snow management for me includes
Clearing the driveway, spreading rock salt.
Cleaning vehicles
Clear deck.
Snowblow path to circumnavigate the house.

My focus is egress. God forbid there's an emergency, but doorways need to be cleared with outside clearance away from the house. Then, access to leave the property.

Should be an interesting day.
