OK day ahead. 60⁰/85⁰ humidity rising. AC sure to go this afternoon.

Yard stuff today - move/stack a small pile of splits, trim back bushes, use leaf blower to clean up some areas.

92 for a high. 85 and 95% humidity right now ,,,yay????


Got up to trim some of my trees at 5:30. Barely enough light to see what I was doing.


Had a guest pastor today at church. Different style...not bad, but very different from what were use to. Good to hear something different now and again.



There is a woman (widow) at church who is in her 90s. She has been having mobility problems, and was telling me she could no longer get outside to maintain her yard.


She's a very difficult person to deal with, angry, confrontational and complains ceaselessly. People at church don't like dealing with her. Even her two sons don't visit her much or do jobs for her.


So I went over after church and helped her by trimming and cutting down volunteer trees in her hedge and around her house. Two big loads to the tree dump. Completely wiped me out in this heat.

I figured the most hurt people are ones need to see the golden rule the most.


I think I hear a cold drink with some rum in it is calling my name.

After a fun time at a gun show yesterday, I was taking a break, maybe reading posts on FHC, when I heard a big bang downstairs. One of the garage door springs broke and I couldn't get the door open. We watched our church service online this morning. I will be calling early tomorrow morning to set up a service call to get the door working again. I have the car in the garage so we are kind of stranded till then.

Need to sharpen a couple chains this morning, then load daughter's car on trailer and take it to the shop, spins over but won't start.

So-so day ahead. 65⁰/79⁰ muggy feel to the air.. Rain this afternoon with possible thunder. We can use the rain.

Some grocery shopping after my morning walk.

Good morning. It is 73f and very muggy this morning. I have 5 quarts of pickled beets in the water bath canner. Probably lay low with low impact garden work here and there today.

 

Thanks. I am often hestiant about saying things like this because I don't want it to be about me, but it was Him working through me to put things aside to help her.

She ended up calling me later yesterday to check that I was able to cool down and offered to pay me.

 

We got the springs replaced this morning and the guy will be coming back with the correct rubber seal for the bottom of the door. Nice to have the transportation option available to us again.
