Morning all. Overcast over the water, blue skies and sunshine back behind us over the land. It could get warm today. We must be one of the few places on the island that doesn't have smoke haze although the sunset last night was pretty spectacular. All campfires are banned through the province except for Haida Gwaii (formally known as Queen Charlotte Islands)

T.Jeff Veal enjoy your trip and GTG
Sawdust Man I am glad your trip and visit went well. I think the Mississippi must be a busy river to watch traffic on.
MikeInMa up here they are recommending people wear N91 masks in high smoke areas if you are going to be outside.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good morning! 69F and sunny, fairly mild today. Got home to a small load of chips and a few elm logs in the woodyard. Made up some bundles to top off the stand and then went to watch my niece play 2 basketball games in the summer league. It was a late night! I need to fill the loose stacks in the roadside stand tonight before bible study. Have a God day!

Yes, it was very busy while we were there....it reminded of back home on the Columbia river, only busier.

    Good morning, members.

Low 50's with haze. Heading to upper 60's with showers this afternoon.

I hope to go for a walk this morning behind the lawnmower, before the smoke builds and showers arrive.

    Be safe
    Be healthy

Morning all. 53 and a little less smoky here. Got home last night from the fishing trip to northern Ontario. Very bad up in that area. Between the heavy smoke and also heavy pine pollen we came home a day early. All in all we had a great time but mother nature is not playing nice. The picture here was taken mid day with a blood red sun in the middle of the day. When we left yesterday there were steady 30 mph winds as well. Closest fires to us were about 50-100 miles above us. Glad to be home and hoping for the best for the fire crews doing battle with it all.

Good morning, y'all. Hope y'all have a TREMENDOUS THURSDAY. We had a long but safe trip to PA, left about 4:30AM, got here about 7:30 PM...took the scenic route...lol. 44° cool morning, heading to the mid 60's. Going to East Freedom this morning to help a FB friend, John Lawler, cut wood for their firewood ministry. Playing with saws, meeting new friends and doing some work for the LORD...doesn't get any better...
    Be blessed, be a blessing...
    GOD LOVES YOU AND ME

Saw a post about you coming (just said a friend from Georgia, who else could it be?). May your chains stay sharp so you can get a lot done for the Lord's work.

Good morning! 56F and sunny, haze from the wildfires continues. Refilled most of the roadside stand last night. All the loose stacks of smoking wood and most of the mixed hardwood was gone. Then I resplit some larger splits and raked out several piles of wood chips that I had moved with the skid steer earlier. I'll probably scrounge a few pallets today. Music practice at church tonight. Have a God day!

Morning all. Foggy this morning but it is burning off quickly. Another warm day in store for us.
Shadow isn't too pleased. Yes, she wants to go everywhere with campinspecter but when she finds out she is going to the dental hygienists, she isn't going to be happy. The woman is excellent with dogs - a dog whisperer and does it all without anesthesia. We were fortunate to find her many years ago and feel fortunate she still considers us as clients even though she has shutdown her practice because of medical needs.

Hammerhead20 sorry to hear your trip got cut short and that it wasn't as wonderful as you had anticipated. Is there another time frame you could go again when the weather is better? I think Canada has wildfires burning in every province and territory this June which is unprecedent. Half of them are out of control.

    Everyone have a great day.

    Good morning, members.

A cool day ahead. Mid-60's, overcast with rain later.

We had a visitor last night, just before going to bed.
    IMG_20230608_210807.jpg

I chased it off. Time to mix some petroleum jelly with cayenne powder, and smear it between the ground and the squirrel baffle.

Good morning! 63F and sunny, still pleasant through the first of next week. Firewood disappeared from the roadside stand throughout the day yesterday. By the time I finally got home all of my loose stacks and over half of the campfire bundles were gone. I got the loose stacks refilled before I ran out of daylight. Tonight I need to make bundles and do more resplitting. I have another load or 2 of split wood being delivered tomorrow. Have a God day!

Morning all. Overcast with fog. It will probably clear off in a bit. A friend was evacuated from her home because of wildfire. This was in the northern part of our province. Our daughter is cut off from the rest of Vancouver Island as fire has taken out a section of road to her area. It will be logging road access for them to get out next week for their trip.
Off to work for the last day of the week. My co-worker could be a grandma by tomorrow night. She will have a hard time keeping focused today.
Sawdust Man you certainly have a lot of limbing to do there.

    Everyone have a great day.

We are driving up to the Cities to pick up on of my wife's friends who is coming for a nice visit. We are very glad the smoke on the east coast is less today. She is flying out of Newark and the past couple days that would have been problematic. Beautiful weather here today so it should be a good drive. I sharpened the chain on my 192T so I am ready to help out my neighbor on Saturday who had a limb come down and he needs it cut. His Poulan he bought a few years ago and hasn't been used much doesn't seem to want to start. His step son is a mechanic so he should be able to get it going eventually.

We had a great time. Got there about 9, worked till about 4. John stepped on a small cutoff knot, twisted his ankle bad, he wasn't able to cut much after that. He and his wife ran the splitter. Miz Carol helped move rounds. 2 neighbors came down later and helped move rounds and load splitter.
