Good morning. I was surprised to see our temperature really rose overnight. We are presently at 38.

Temp rose to 21 here also overnight. Headed to high 30s.
Get my coffee in me and then wander outside. I noticed a couple of vinyl fence rails fell from the recent wind that need fixing and reloading the front porch rack.
Like MikeMa, I may take a walk down to the end of the property and look at all the blow downs in my “swamp”. I think it’s cottonwood but some big stuff and a lot of it. I’ll take a couple of pictures and ask the brain trust on here for help IDing it.
Quantity vs quality. Maybe some shoulder season stuff or outside/shop stove wood.

After my walk. Do you guys know what this may be? I’m not much past it’s softwood or hardwood identification as if it fits it ships in my stoves. It’s all in a low area that stays wet from the brook running through it.

That could be it. I’m Off to my tree Id book which is in near new condition and 10 plus years old! Should open it I guess.

I’m only familiar with the “weeping willow” being from OKlahoma originally.
Also going to research basswood per the burtman as I’ve never seen it either (other than in a carvers hands).

Morning All. Calm and wet looking outside. We had wind and rain all day yesterday. I am headed over to Mom's for a couple of hours to help with her Year End bookkeeping. Seems funny doing that as she has been a bookkeeper for over 70 years but this is computer bookkeeping. It amazes me how she has tackled computer bookkeeping at 95 and has done really well with it. Just a few things that crop up now and then. She keeps saying that she should have kept a book ledger as well.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good Morning... :coffee: ... Supposedly windy today and a high of 66F today... Not going to have to burn a fire today... In fact I opened the screen front door for a bit yesterday to get some fresh air in...

Good Morning. Today is a planned day off for me. I take a few Mondays during February for some extra ice fishing. It is 15f now but it is heading to 35f with a light mix of light snow/drizzle/ice on tap.

    Good morning all,
32° here in Southern Vermont this morning.
Nearly clear skies and big full moon. As I’m making the morning 5am trip to watch my grandkids till they get up, a deer jumped out in front of me. Thankfully, I was able to get stopped but she did get a bit of a love tap before running off. Then 2 more attempted it in the 5 mile trek.
Warm weather(relatively) and full moon must have them moving.
No damage to her majesty’s car so all is good.

    Good morning, members.

Right at freezing. Heading to upper 40's and clear.

I emptied a rack yesterday. Time to clear out leaves that have built up over the years.

Grocery shopping is on the list, after a visit with my folks.

    Be safe
    Be healthy

Morning All. Rain again this week. I am glad I work inside. campinspecter is trying to get a dry spell to move more firewood into the wood shed. Doesn't look like it will happen today.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good morning! 31F and sunny, warming throughout the week. Got some cherry split Saturday and filled a tote of ready-to-burn mixed hardwoods (mostly ash) yesterday. Split some bundle wood as well. Visitation for a classmate tonight and the probably make some mini bundles for inventory. Have a God day!
