Bear in mind I'm not cutting and doing minimal splitting. Just mainly stacking and mostly using my good hand so it works well. Definitely not a permanent solution.

Have you tried using one of the short log tongs?

They make 2 sizes. I used only the large ones at first but a while back I tried one of the short ones and those do work very well when handling split. Not only are they very handy, but they will make your gloves last a lot, lot longer and your hands won't get as cold because you are not picking up the splits with your hands. Good luck.

Good afternoon everybody. Gonna be in mid 40s today with sunshine. So more melting going on.
Chaz is doing a grocery run. Manly things for Thanksgiving. Not sure if he plans to go hunting this afternoon or not.
    Have a great day all.

    Good morning, members.

Upper 20's and clear. Mid-40's and sunny later.

I have a couple of errands to run for last minute items.

I'll be making chicken soup to have when our guests arrive later.

    Be safe

I use tongs regularly and love them. Have 2 different sizes plus a log ox. Not really lifting with my left hand yet-not very comfortable. More of balancing what I'm carrying with my right hand at this point.

Good morning! 32F and sunny. Beautiful today and most of tomorrow. I had yesterday afternoon off so I resplit some wood for bundles and made them up for the roadside stand. Had a couple people stop by for wood so had to refill. $185 for the week so far. One was a college professor that commutes weekly to Chicago (2 hours away). He was taking a loose stack home for the holiday. Girls basketball away game last night (JV won). Need to split more shorts tonight for mini bundles, pick up some free barrels from Marketplace and start prep for tomorrow's festivities. Have a God day!

Morning All. Looks like I missed a day. I was working on a database problem yesterday morning before breakfast so I missed my regular check in. Weather is wet. We had a storm yesterday. I think more of the same today.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good morning, y'all. Hope y'all have a tremendous Thanksgiving Day. I missed yesterday also. Had to take our 2 yr old grandson back to Augusta for eye checkup. He is doing well since his surgery, doesn't have to go back for 14 months or so. After we got home about 4 or so, we hooked up the dump trailer and delivered a cord of oak.
We're doing something different today. Going to smoke 4 racks of baby backs, tater salad, baked beans, sweet potato casserole...
    Count your blessings, be thankful
    GOD LOVES YOU AND ME

Morning All. Warm outside, nearly 50 F. Wet and windy though. Ferry transportation will be a problem this morning for students. I had to go looking for the garbage can lids down the hill yesterday when I got home from work. Two nice people found them and returned them to me. Nice to be working inside today.

    Everyone have a great day.
