I used to work for a dairy, it was no wonder we could never get any milk crates back. I would see milk crates mounted to the fronts of bicycles, in record stores and stacks in my own pole barn. They cost a fortune for thousands of them brand new. We tried these cardboard boxes for 1/2 gallons and it barely worked on the loading dock let alone shipping them across the state. All hail the milk crate.
I have a Stihl case for the MS250. I think it’s the woodsman? With the 18’ Bar on the saw, I can fit the following in the case with the saw: File and guide, small screw driver, two plastic felling wedges and a small hatchet. That’ll get me through most of when I need when cutting off property. I usually toss bar oil in gas in the truck or the trailer behind the quad.
Go bag, not really. I do have a "go truck" though, actually two of them that are set up and ready. Only thing that doesn't ride full time is the saw compliment. Those get picked by job need. Everything rides in water tight locked tool boxes. It's a crazy system, but I'm seldom caught without the right tool for the job.
I use a milk crate in the tractor carryall. I made a bracket from 2x wood so it slides down on the back wall. I can pick it up off the wall all together and set it on its shelf in the shop. In each inside corner of the crate, I zip tied a piece of 1” pvc scrap 6-8” vertically. That’s where screnches go. Inside is a 1 gallon mix jug plus a quart of bar oil, 2n1, wedges, chalk, tape measure, extra chain(s), a rag or two, stump vise, and anything else “chainsaw stuff” I might think I need. Saw gets stood up in the carryall bracket or on the ATV saw bracket on the tractor floorboard. Logrite pickaroon on the tractor all the time and a fat handled peavy thrown in the carryall with rope, capstan winch, and rigging stuff if needed. This is for working the woodlot or blowdowns on my 10 acres. In my truck (4 door) the log ox deluxe kit with chalk, 2n1, couple wedges, scrench , chainsaw with scabbard, full of gas and oil sets behind the drivers seat under a moving blanket in front of my granddaughter’s baby seat. That stuff stays there for road scrounging. Reminds me. I should throw an extra chain in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
