Nope....quietly flying under the radar, independently maintaining my abode staying toasty by the fire with my eyes open....

I have a soft spot for the little giant MS180C, it's my one and only, for now.

I'm late to the party, most of these were suggested before me, and I like the eventual solution (probably the wisest course of action given the opportunity that arose), but fixing this thing as a backup saw isn't out of the realm of possibility either. So here goes:

Were the rakers adjusted after all the sharpening? Prob not, as most do not touch the rakers for one reason or another. If you aren't into technicalities, just pick up a new chain as they aren't very expensive for these small saws and getting the Picco Mini chains "right" after botched sharpening can be a bit fiddly. You can also try just flat file those rakers 3-4 strokes on each, test, rinse & repeat until it's cutting well.

That's not unheard of, but IIRC you can access the at least some bolts for the engine to check this without disassembling the saw.

You're not wrong here, and neither is he...

Wish I was closer - I don't make dates these days, but I'd make an exception for Scavenger. (for saw repair! jeez ....)

scavenger have you been to Alvord's on 44 south of Chardon? Those folks are top notch. There are two guys who live two minutes from Bortnick's (84 and Rt 7) that drive to Alvord's. I am a fan of their customer service.

Well thanks for the info Casper ...I may have reason to be going in that vicinity soon so I'll have my chains with me to drop off. I may also get a file as previously suggested as well. All good info. Thanks!
