That's an opinion too, but not one that I agree with.

 

Something I agree with Putin on, he said a few years ago that global warming would be very good for Russia. Living in Canada more warmth would certainly be a plus.
People are also voting with their feet. More people move from the northern states to the southern states than the other way around. If they were concerned about it those northern people would stay put.

that's but sorta true all farmers here compost manure turn to methane power generators to make electricity (call it cow power) and sell it at 15% higher rates because its environmentally friendly!

Your response is typical of an "average Joe" that illustrates most people have no concept of the complexity of the questions or the enormity of the forces at play.

 

This previous post is exactly why I chose not to respond to this thread. It brought back bad memories of another forum that a lot of us used to be on. There are a lot of very educated individuals on both sides of this theory. I've read some on both sides and no I don't claim to be an expert. Let me also say I am not pointing fingers at any member I appreciate all our members.

 

Funny, I just listened to an old time radio show. It was "Our Miss Brooks" from 1950.

One of the characters was reciting information that the world was getting colder.

Anecdotal, but I thought it was interesting to hear that.

I'm glad this is a "safe" place away from politics, rude language and in fighting. Every where else we go during the day has plenty of that already.

FHC = friends, wood heating, saws, beer, dogs and general bullchitting!

I do agree that its great place to talk about what we do! As it is for me at least (the woods) one of those things to escape from it all for maybe even just a little while. It is fun to see and share what others do as well!

This place was created to not have the back biting and snarky comments that too frequently result from political discussions.

Every so often this comes up as to why it's a subject that not invited here. I think I can speak for the moderators to sấy its a moot issue. It's not welcome here. Period.

There are lots of places for politics to be discussed...FHC is not one of them.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I didn't get my feelings hurt at all, just wanted to make a point why the rules are what they are, because we get a lot of new people here.
