So sad, many good years, and she isn't suffering now. Hate when this happens. RIP little one.

Max and Mazzy were best buds, but then Mazzy had a sudden death. Max was alone again. He had raised Mazzy. We quickly went and got another puppy. Max didn't want much to do with the new puppy. However, Molly wasn't having anything to do with being left out. They are good buddies today. See Avatar

Harriet will be our 9th dog we have guided over the rainbow bridge in the last 7 yrs. We have been "fostering" dogs for a local rescue organization, and have foster and placed >20 dogs with forever homes. However, of late, we have been focusing more on the "unadoptable" cases, older dogs +/- medical conditions. This basically winds up being hospice care for most of the dogs. It's very rewarding, providing a loving environment for these seniors. But, it means we will lose them with all too great of frequency. As with all of life, it's a balance. We celebrate the good and revere the sadness.

Takes a great heart to be able to do what you are doing for the "unadoptable" cases especially as you go through the parting more often than most dog owners.

The girls gussied up Emma this weekend for going to Sunday brunch at Lake Hope State Park! I guess they wanted to make sure everyone knew she was a girl?! :)

I bet the owner of this place sleeps soundly.
