I have a vid. somewhere when my MAX dragged brush to the brush pile right along with the rest of us. He loves my adult daughter and was following her back and forth as she was dragging hemlock limbs. Then he just started biting hold of some and dragged them to the pile right along side of my daughter. Our daughter found this dog from a breeder who worked with her. Even to this day, she comes to visit and he about turns inside out when he sees her.

Brought her back to this thread stinny as didnt want to wreck Daves garden thread :smoke:

Found this and they are related somewhere down the line?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

As late as 1874 the breed was not completely standardized in appearance, with two major sub-types recorded, the Western and the Eastern.[5] They are related to several other large white European livestock guardian dogs (LGD), including the Italian Maremma Sheepdog, Kuvasz (Hungary), Akbash Dog (Turkey) and Polish Tatra or Polski Owczarek Podhalański, and somewhat less closely to the Newfoundland and St. Bernard. According to the Great Pyrenees Club of America, the Great Pyrenees is naturally nocturnal and aggressive with any predators that may harm its flock. However, the breed can typically be trusted with small, young, and helpless animals of any kind due to its natural guardian instinct.

Interesting info. With your area as a background, I could look at your pics of Emma all day. Nice.

We are pet sitting for a colleague this week.
My three on the right, that's Oliver's litter mate brother, "Sprocket" on the left, it's a riot watching them interact, they've seen each other a few times over the years, I swear they know they are brothers.

Giz and I went down into the woods this morning. No bugs yet… nice. Lots of deadwood and dead poles to cut up this year.

Poor Buddy. Asked my honey what we use for Giz… she said Preventic collars made by Virbac. Bought it at the vets.

The Advantix2 is what we use......expensive, but it works very well.
Just got a new batch for 3 months:bug:(we have 4 labs), but I hate the little buggers and the thought they'll be in the house kind of freaks me out.
