Early on we had an issue with our collar, it stopped charging. There was a video chat where the customer service guy tried to update software but it didn’t fix the problem, they sent the guts of the collar out to us within days. Did not include the collar itself.

Good deal! They are shipping out a replacement. She had me push and hold a couple buttons but the lights never came back on.
Customer service has been great, no long holds and very friendly which is good because you're not kidding, they're not cheap.

Have you tried baking soda and hydrogen peroxide? I used to carry a “kit” with those items in it when bird hunting but fortunately never had to de-skunk either of my GSP’s

Thanks, I did, but it was still fed through the plastic things [IMG]
I still need to undo the collar to just a strap so I can work the material in the H2O2 baking soda (I use some dishsoap in it too) better this time.

The replacement Halo collar is here, guess what, they sent a complete new collar :) I don't have to bother with the skunked one now.

There's more pieces and parts to this one, I'll have to figure out what they are for.

Another dog ‘packed his bags’ and left this morning. Off to get a job and earn his kibble.
Gibby and Garcia seemed to be more than happy to go with him if they were invited.

I used to be pretty smart, the last 6 months-year I just get so fatigued from this disease I feel dumb. I need to get deeper into the Halo Collar training. Our little stinker has ventured up to a mile away 3 times the last week +. Anway after training I'm pondering the geofence borders. I guess up and down the road so I don't have to turn it off every day when we pick up at the bus stop nor when kiddo rides bike with her in the other direction. Also a divet in the fence for the lake across the lake when hubby/kiddo/dog go often. Any suggestions?

Also when she came back after splitting last time a couple days ago (kiddo and I were just walking out the door to bring that lil stinker home) she had rolled in something stinky on the lake shore. I think it's just stinky lake bottom mud but for all I know she rolled there where someone gutted a fish, kwim?

On Tuesday, I had an all-in-one vet appointment for Delilah. I don't remember if I had mentioned it here, but she was supposed to get her shots/blood work/checkup in May but she escaped the carrier so we never got that done (fortunately the carrier was inside the house at the time). Delilah does not like boxes, bags or any other enclosed spaces, unless she finds a hidey hole that is inaccessible by humans. She is not treat driven, so trying to train her to even get close to one was a failure (my fault for not being smarter and figuring some method that would work).

While I had Spot and Rainey in for their annual checkups a couple of weeks ago and I talked to the vet about doing everything at once. She was all for it since they do feral cats on occasion. The vet gave me some calming/mild sedative to put in her wet food to help keep Delilah calm the night before and day of the visit. Well, she wouldn't eat any of the food, so that didn't work. So there I was Tuesday morning rounding up Delilah into a bedroom, closing the door and then chasing her around until I got her trapped in a corner. Then I pushed a "cat cave" that Rainey likes into that corner until she entered it. Then I stuffed the cat cave into a cat trap cage and double-secured the doors by placing bungees over them.

She came thru the surgery fine, and her blood work said she was free of any disease (which was a relief since she has had free reign of the house for 5 months or so. The vet put a cone on her so she wouldn't worry at her incisions (both for the spay and her chip). They did all internal stitches (naturally degrading), and then glued the skin so I wouldn't have to try to bring her back in to remove external stitches. Well, that was all good intentions, but she had already gotten the cone off by the time I got home. See that weird light/shape behind her in the cage? That is an edge of the cone

I put her back in the bedroom for a couple of days so she could rest up without the other cats bothering her. Plus, I didn't want her disappearing anywhere that I couldn't at least keep an eye on her. The vet gave me liquid pain meds to put in her wet food - but again she wouldn't eat any of that (she did take a few bites of kibble a couple of times tough). It took a couple of days, but Thursday she was feeling better so I let her out of the bedroom, although I did close off the basement.

Yesterday (Friday), she had mostly forgiven me for putting her thru all that and came up to me a couple of times for pets. She also rolled over once so I could see her belly and confirm there was no swelling or redness. She hasn't been worrying it any of the incisions, so all is good.

As much as Lila hates (and won't even get near) boxes, cages, kennels, bags, sacks, or anything without several getaway methods, then there is this crazy cat, Spot, who has decided the cat trap is the place to hang out and sleep - LOL She has obviously made herself at home as that bunched up towel was in the back portion of the trap.

Spot in the cat trap - LOL.jpg

The trap has two doors, the trap door and the "easy release" door (for releasing an animal safely). The trap door is closed, but I left the release door open.
