We are babysitting our daughter's Nova Scotia Duck Toller for a few days. Lady and Roo get along really well. Both sleep quite well at night.

Doggie has a lump on her chest, went from a flat small squishy 1/2 Silly Putty flat lump to almost a small hard boiled egg in less than week, it's not squishy anymore. Vet appt tomorrow, I'll report what WWW says after the appt. I don't know of anything that grows that fast, hoping it's only a nasty sticker that got under her skin and is abcessing.

Sounds like an abscess is the most likely explanation - hope that is the case!

Could be a “fatty tumor” not a problem just look kind of bad. No ill effects for your pup.

She's home, "wound" drained, just a little lump now. They sent antibiotics. Glad it was just an abcess and also it was only $210

Thanks, me too. She keeps coming in with little tiny sharp stickers, round, smaller than a bb, but sharp. I'm wondering if one got under the skin on her chest? Or, she could have biffed it and landed on a cactus? We'll never know lol.

Prince, long gone pup, used to get abscesses on a regular basis on his face during late spring. The best we could figure was black fly or mosquito bites that got infected deep in. One day he would be fine, the next he would have a noticeable swelling. We usually had to get them drained as hot compresses didn't seem to work to bring them up (andeven as they expanded). None of the other dogs had this issue, but Prince didn't have the double coat that most of the others had, so he was more prone to insect bites.

:fart: Dog got skunked at the break of dawn. She's clean but Halo her collar reeks. Guess I'll soak it in some H2O2/baking soda/dish soap.

Both regular collar and Halo soaked and hand washed, reg collar is much better. I since disassembled the Halo, will try again so I can work the webbing again. They want $80 for a new collar and canvas protective cover. If I can't get the stink out the replacement is hot pink which I think will look pretty cute on her though :)

Well POOP, the Halo collar won't take a charge now. It's supposed to be waterproof. I'll call customre service tomorrow when they are open. Grr.

Seems I bought it early 2024.

Hopefully it has longer than a 1 year guarantee. even if not, if they have decent customer service, maybe they will take care of you anyway - or at least get you a good discount on a replacement.

I’m interested in how customer service treats you. We have one of these on our beagle to keep her inside our farm boundaries, but haven’t had any real issues with it yet. They work pretty well but are not cheap, so I’m curious what the support is like.
