    Just catching up on this thread. Mountain dogs typically won't swim because swimming where they are from can be deadly. Just think about it, a mountain lake looks all inviting, but are usually bone chilling temps.

    Of all the mountain dogs I've seen/ known, I don't know any that really swim.

    Oh, and don't give him a trim, that will actually do the opposite of what you're trying to accomplish. Is It OK to Shave Your Dog’s Coat? – American Kennel Club.

    Here's Mia helping the ole man Well Seasoned ... Giz started riding in the box way back when we first had the ATV on tracks. She loved it. Mia seems to like it too.
