Really nice looking dog. I am glad for the both of you. So hard to give up a pup, but it is easier when you know they are going to a good home. I was also glad to see that his ears are not cropped. I hate to see when dogs tails and ears are trimmed down.

We spent 1.5 hours at the local dog park and he behaved excellent. He was trained with a shock type collar with vibration and sound. So when he gets too far away, a click of the sound button makes him look back. But all it usually takes is a shout.

I can’t imagine giving a pet up like that, but we did let them know we could stay in touch and share pics. I love the look of well done cropped ears but it’s a huge gamble. When I was younger, my parents had friends with a Doberman. They got his ears done and it was a botched job. I’d never risk it.

Thanks! And he sure does. Probably 10-12 years ago while on vaca, we walked by a lady with a very young Dobie pup and his legs/feet were very stout. We stopped and talked with the owner and ever since that time, we’ve wanted one.

These are what the previous owner sent.

That's a good looking dog. We had a red male when I was a kid. That dog lived to be 14. He was one of the best. Congrats and enjoy!!

I love that they didn't crop his ears. Not only for humane reasons, but the ears help so much with facial expressions. Congratulations.

Here is our province, cropping of tails and ears and removal of dew claws is now illegal. For little dogs, I think I still like the removal of dew claws as the nails are so hard to clip. Our dogs' tails and dew claws were done before the rules changed.

Leaving dew claws helps them get out of lakes when the ice breaks. It's especially helpful for labs and other sporting breeds.

So sorry to hear about your loss savemoney . BTDT with losing multiple family pets in a short amount of time. Keep strong.

The Wood Wolverine, is this your first dog? He looks to be pretty happy.

We got to finally be adding another dog toour family, but we definitely don't want another puppy at this juncture, so we'll need to adopt/ re-home one.

It isn't. I grew up with dogs, we always had at least one. This was my best pet ever. She was special.

Really feeling lucky. He’s very well behaved and obedient. Loves affection, does not play really hard/tough. We’re getting attached very quickly.

Oh yeah, the dobie I had in the 80's would smile like that too. She also would hiss at the cats (learned it from cats at the age of 7)
