With that, we are looking for a new friend to give a loving home. Anybody know of a reputable lab breeder? Willing to travel a bit from NH for the right situation.

we got lucky with Frank he was from a “backyard breeder” that seems to not be doing it anymore.

Look in Uncle Henry's There are some pups there ready to go. I know a breeder here in Maine that has pups from time to time. I don't think he has any at this time. But I will keep my eyes and ears open. I know how you feel about labs. I had three. Best dogs ever. This young dog I have now I got from the animal shelter. He was a stray out in the woods for a month, so I was told. I think he is a schnoodle. I'll have a better idea after out vet visit, but that isn't until Nov. Very smart and gentle. Loves the cats. Sometimes he is full of pizz and vinegar. Starts whirling around. Likes to jump with all four feet off the ground.

Mother (3 years old) and daughter (5 months old). They look like identical twins.

Thanks. Frank the dog in the pic. Came from someone I found in uncle Henry’s. I’m thinking we will probly end up waiting till spring, kinda hard to train a pup with snow on the ground. I haven’t really started looking as you know how it goes when the ball gets rolling. Thanks for the reply and good luck with the pup!

Ah, she is cute. If it weren't for the whole size thing and Mama's horns, but those are coming.

After a year and a half of hard work and training, our doggo DIXIE learned to perform 137 different tricks on command. She has now received her Certified Grand Championship. Not bad for a soon-to-be 9 yo rescued dog. Who says you can't teach a old dog new tricks !!!!!!

Smart dog. I hope you rewarded her with a few treats. She reminds me of my Molly who passed away this summer. Age 8. I know a man who said he had a lab who lived to age 18. Was healthy right up to the end.

 :rofl:  she had a boxcar load of treats during that year and a half. Wow 18 year old Labs are a real rarity, he was very fortunate.

I am of opinion Labs are one of easiest dogs to train! Very food and praise driven..

Not trying to diminish your excellent work with Dixie

No doubt they are always looking to please and are quick learners. They make excellent companions and always want to be with their pack. This one is very much driven by positive praise and the treats don't hurt either........ :thumbs:
