Hayden is pretty proud of himself. Shredding paper, playing with the rubber chicken, and chewing on a bone until he fell asleep

The way we taught one of our German Shepherds to swim was to put a life vest on her. One of those Viking vest. It just fit her and she would run and jump in after she figured out that she wouldn't sink with it on. Only bad habit she had was to try and climb up on you if she got close.

I'm so sorry to hear about Badger Horkn . If it matters, I declined chemo for a dog too, quality of life is totally different than quantity.

We've got an appointment for Badger with the oncologist on the 12th. He's a very resilient dog. The last couple of days he's been finished with the one pain med the vet gave him for his teeth extraction and lump-ectomy from his jaw. He's doing better and better every day. He's acting more like his old self, minus retrieving. He was super snuggly yesterday morning. He's still on rimadyl once a day, which we used to reserve a half or whole rimadyl for the last half a year if he had a day of extra excercise. So considering his surgery was 2 weeks ago today, I think he's doing pretty well.

We are probably going to have this vaccine given to him when he sees the oncologist though. Provided it's not too pricey.

Here's the best reason why I have the stove going tonight. 20201005_203341(1).jpg

    Badger enjoys it thoroughly.

Hayden is within 2 lbs of Badger's weight.

Slowly but surely all the Blackie hair that was hidden in nooks and crannies is getting cleaned out. Bitter sweet, miss that little soul so much!

Pup is doing well, personality and behaviorally she's like a cross between Blondie and Blackie  Plus her own additions. She's already caught two birds in the yard by herself o_O (that one reminds me of our second Brittany, she did similar and was the best hunting dog ever. Amazing hunt, point, flush and retrieve for her breed and her size (rip 2011) ).

Her white puppy coat is fading and she's becoming more brown like her parents. She's lost some front teeth, baby molars and baby canines still intact, thank goodness for dog toys! She has the sharpest claws of any puppy we have ever had, she literally curls her paws like a cat, it's amazing, I have never seen that before.

How old is your pup now? Puppy claws are always sharp. I try to start clipping nails as soon as I can. With Hayden that's paid off well as I can clip his nails easier than any other pup. He lets me take his paws and never pulls away.

She's going on 4 months. Yes I've clipped them 3 times since she came home, I loaned WWW my metal nail file from 1976 to him for a wood working project, and we cannot find it now :picard:, I ordered another one, it comes with a spring lever nail clipper, I'm not fond of the spring lever ones since I'm not used to it, but we'll see. She's on hard floors inside and dirt outside, no asphalt or sidewalks.

I've been working with her on how I've clipped all my other dogs (and cats) nails, she lets me push her nails out of the sheath to expose the entire nail:yes: , but still very mouthy, idk, can't blame her with teething . But will be thrilled when the metal file arrives!! Plus my medications make my skin fragile, so it's worse than hubby or kiddo, but will still continue to correct her on doing that on people.
