Crud! Blondie is not well. I got her out to the living room on the new dog bed, going to try to sleep out here with her tonight. I pray this is hiccup and not her demise from canine PLE.

OMG. no clue how, what, when! He's. Taking her to vet at 4.

Can't help but think this could have something to do w the other night?

Wonder if the spider that gave me nastys bites got her as well? Look more like puncture wounds though.

the back of my knee pic was taken last night, so 4 days of healing. The itch is INSATIABLE, been walking around with a tube of hydrocortisone. If the had the same bites I wonder if she could have been itching them with her teeth and broke the skin? Either way it looks swollen and infected.

Vet flushed wounds and sent her home with antibiotics, said to keep shirt on her to stop her from licking when she starts up again. Also gave her a physical, not the picture of health by any means with Canine PLE and her age but pretty darn good considering :)

They of course cannot say but think they are puncture wounds, possible a bite, but who knows. Our dog fence is dog-proof from my two geriatrics, but not from other dogs getting in, but they don't go out often and we likely would have heard if another dog came in and bit her. No idea. Vet did not rule out spider bit necrosis.

Hope you don't have any brown recluse spiders out there. A friend of ours got bit by one a few years ago and is still dealing with the aftermath. For her, it heals up and then opens up again. She is in a lot of discomfort when she has a relapse.

Google says they are not up here, but wow I never had bites like this in Colorado. Many bites over the years, never ones like this. If they are spider bites, I found something called a hobo spider, I order alot of household items.

Idk. Either way we bug bombed the bedroom  I'd prefer to do the whole house but too cold and we are all home.

I ran a low fever for a couple days with nausea and could not keep much down. Blondie yacked on Sunday but her digestion is sadly not working well. I have no idea. I still have the low fever today but thrilled to have potato with corn soup

I did think they look like puncture wounds. But as you said, it is hard to imagine not knowing if something had tangled with her in the yard. Also, once they start getting infected, bug bites can turn into big nasties. Had a dog that used to get abscesses every couple of years on his forehead - apparently from mosquito bites because he didn't have fleas or ticks and spider bites were very unlikely up here.

Ouch! On those pup and peeps bites! Good to hear you are burn doing better. Diatomaceous earth will kill spiders and bugs, and really not harm any humans or non creepy crawlies.

Loon here is the ingound e fence we have. I put mine in myself and did a friend's as well with a rented trencher.

Extreme Dog Fence - Second Generation -2020- Professional Grade (Premium) Kit Packages

Made in the USA, amazingly. It's been good to us. The warning let's the pups know to not go further. It doesn't have the "run through" technology, but we trained around that. Well need to remember this as we've got the new pup inbound in a few weeks.
