Listen with your head. If you listen with just your heart, you would be running a kennel now or end up being raided for being a hoarder. you have wrestled with this for a long time. Believe in yourself. Unless you have been influenced by something new, you need to go the direction that is overall best for the current living situation at home.

Thank you so very much Larry, that really makes sense. I needed it . I appreciate you answering :) At this point it appears Peaches has a golden ticket (willie wonka chocolate factory movie) with this new owner. We will miss her so much and be sad but as you mentioned a month or so ago, there will be less chaos here plus a huge chance with new owner getting her out and about in one of the dog-friendliest cities in the nation the dog will be better off too.

I agree with Larry. Think this through logically. Your health is a big factor in this.

I can't add to what has been said previously - stay strong in your commitment to let Peaches have a chance at becoming her best version of herself, and less stress (and possible negative consequences) for you and your family.

0500, today Sept 11th, the black and white striped kitty has struck again!!! :headbang::picard::headbang::hair::headbang::hair::picard: I invented new words this morning for that critter!!! :zip::whistle: I'm loading the have-a-heart traps again tonight and have to relocate this animal. 1-1/2 hours, 2 bath's in Vinegar and lemon juice then in the kiddy pool. This is getting old and now I smell just as bad as the dog does! o_O:whistle: She got "Hammered" this time... :headbang:

Hopefully she can be transported in the back of a truck. And hopefully this time your dog has learned to stay the heck away from those kitties.

Thank you for propping me up and pointing me in the right direction on the 11th hour :handshake: ! It's been a long wait.

This little soul deserves it. 3 more days/nights and 3 more bus stop rides then she starts her new journey, likely (hopefully) resulting in the above.
Sad but true it's too easy to leave myself/health out this equation. This has been a very long 4 weeks waiting til the adopter could take her, lamenting the entire time. Your right WW.
Thank you friend, it has been, one of the hardest in all my years, lil dog without a voice and kiddo that's attached to that dog (and WWW/myself). I got a smile out of kiddo yesterday after her tears and plea on keeping Peaches, the new owners relative has a poodle named Pearl, she thought Peaches and Pearl friendship sounded great (and cute combo of names). More of a distraction, but it helped.

Between all your words & Larry's this is no brainer on paper , win-win, just need to get leash on us missing her and model well for kiddo. ( leash pun intended ) New owner promised to send photos.

Rehoming contracts sent, time and date and location set, list of items to send with her written, the long wait is almost over. WWW and I think it might be better for him to take her without me so she won't feed off my sad emotions for the long drive, I told him I would do it instead but he's leaning towards him doing it. Besides, one of needs to stay with kiddo, no way will I let her witness Peaches panicking when we force her into the new owners car (great adoptor but still a stranger in Peaches eyes).

Got an Opossum this morning in the trap. A little one, must have been born this year, although big enough to fend for itself. Ate a half can of cat food! I repatriated it to a nice home back in with woods of our gun club, 4 miles away, it'll never get hurt or hit by a car and can live out the life of what an Opossum does...

We had a skunk coming into our back yard when we moved here, dogs were getting sprayed during last potty trip of the night before bed. WWW popped it in the buttocks one night with kiddos pink camo pea shooter. He's still around but not in the yard it appears, dogs have not been sprayed since then.

Possums aren't bad, they eat lots of ticks, grubs and other insects, with some mice thrown in. They are ugly, and do like cat food, though. At least you re-homed it instead of giving it a lethal dose of lead

I have absolutely "No" desire to kill anything! I "may" take up turkey hunting again when I get up to NH but down here, Na! Between getting your license, the turkey stamp, and everything else that goes with hunting down here, a turkey would cost me $100.00 o_O The Supermarket is cheaper! :p:rofl:  Not to mention our hunting areas are "very restricted", hard to get permission from land owners, and between the police and fish and game, you'll spend half your time explaining "why" you have a gun and little hunting! I like all creatures in Gods world to much, unless I have to eat and I'm not opposed to hunting but it's just not in my spirit. I do appreciate the hunt and folks that do, I get "steaming" mad :headbang::mad::headbang: over these S.O.B's that go on "canned hunts". This morning I took a raccoon to a new home, he was a bit "Pi$$ed" off and kinda mean but he went on his way. With the Dogs, I don't need the chance of ticks, fleas, or worse, rabies. Not to mention our town "has" a small issue with raccoon's and trash in the last few years, but I guess thats the normal with them...
