I am so glad we don't have skunks around here. Fortunately we didn't encounter any on our trip this summer.
Good luck WeldrDave at least tomatoes are in season!! savemoney Huskies need to walk run at least 5 miles a day. If you don't have that kind of activity level don't get a husky. We had a rescue husky, Balto.. we were his retirement home after his family went through a divorce.. people thought I was mean to him because he wouldn't come inside. He was welcome and he just chose not to.. he was quite content to live in a horse barn.. he also wouldn't get into a car, the dog catcher couldn't catch him.. she would call me and I would go get him put my four way flashers on and he would follow me home.. At 10 MPH
A little surprise. You all know we have five cats. They are everywhere. My wife was loading the dishwasher when she noticed this: what a surprise! cat face on the dishwasher door!
Ouch!! Had the same thing happen to our old dog Linux. When she first came running back into the house, the smell was so intense it didn't even smell like skunk. At least it wasn't 0500 at the time. She always slept on the floor on my side of the bed. Joyous.
Ok my shepherd losing her mind... So I walk out on side deck to find out why... She barks at deer they ignore her... So did this fella
Yeah, moose will walk within inches of a barking dog and not even flinch. Surprised the deer were calm, but if they are used to where your pup can roam (or not), they will take advantage of where she can't get.
bogieb my yards not fenced.. Lady, the Sheppard, won't chase deer, she just get mad when they get within 30 feet or so of house.. They know she's all bark
Ah, that explains it. Used to have a husky we kept on a cable when he was out for a short time, and saw a moose walk right by him as he was barking his fool head off - didn't even look at at the dog, just kept plodding along. We had bears that would walk right beside the dog pen with the dogs in it, dogs going mad. Deer would come lay in my vegetable garden because they knew the dogs were either in the pen, house, or fenced portion of the yard.
My primary neighbor, farm, over 800 acres.. 200 of which connect to me. Lady is wherever we are.. I was in garage.. The big boy came out of swamp area..
When she was young, she would go crazy when we were on the water. Now she prefers to sit on the dock and watch.

I attended a lecture from one of the veterans of Benghazi. He has his dog with him. At one point as he was talking, and had a little edge on his speech. the shepherd stood and walked over to him to check on him. The old Marine gave him a pat, and the both went on about their business.
Dang, kiddo is expressing sadness and asked me not rehome Peaches on the ride home from the bus. Darn, she was on board wtih rehoming the whole time until now.... We had a short conversation about how much we love her but need to love her enough to let the new owner help her be happier. Ugg, am I doing this right?
