Out at the cottage yesterday for some fishing.:)

Then back home and Emma wanted to go for a run in the fields, but more like a slow jog as she is definitely showing her age.

She use to do the whole route but just half now.:BrianK: :coldone:

No he doesn't have a fat lip or anything. He's just a goof ball. Looks like it could be a meme for Midwinter .

Friend had to go to North Carolina for his marine son deployment. So we had his female boxer for week. Cute dog, another female brought her back Friday..
Boss/neighbor/friend had a concert to go to so brought his year old chocolate lab up for 8 hours.. I swear I'm a doggie babysitter.. My land is a dog paradise. Both visitors are 14 months old, my dog lady, is 6 or 7, she's exhausted.

You may remember Jackson had bilateral TTA knee surgery back in Feb. Well the right side healed up just fine but we've been having some continued lameness on the left side ever since, despite my best efforts at a slow and careful rehab with him. Last week the Doc checked him and suggested we try another surgery to check for problems and sure enough he had a pretty significant tear in the left meniscus, she patched him up again. Doc says they usually recovery from this surgery pretty quick, we'll still take it slow. Coming home after surgery yeaterday.

When My Max had his surgery, I had to all but cut out the pain meds in order to slow him down. He want to run and play overwhelmed him most of the time. Arthritis set in so bad in the end, that he only was doing the old man shuffle. Then I medicated him as best we could. the anti inflammatory drugs helped a lot but made him sick to his stomach. last thing I gave him that helped was CBD.

Thanks Larry, its good to hear from someone who has experience with an aged animals with knee issues. The Doc did say that since the meniscus tore that I should expect some arthritis. I meant to ask her about CBD but forgot...I don't know much about it. I know that THC is toxic to canines, but the oil is refined so it should not contain any THC and be safe for canines.
