    Found this picture of Blondie as a baby. I think she's the one on the bottom right with the light blue ribbon. She still sleeps like that in bed 10 years 65 more lbs later.

    We picked up a new ram yesterday. He's a very handsome boy. We'll have to see how he gets along with our current ram.

    So much for peace:pain::hair::heidi:
    We had a bad dog fight tonight and here I thought we all got along so well. Neo thought he needed to push Max out of his top position. We had a few small growls earlier but they settled back down. Then my husband drove up to night and the two ran to greet him. He wasn't even out of the truck when those two were suddenly at each others throat. Needless to say i lost my head and all the better knowledge of what and what not to do went out the window. I was truly afraid Max would kill Neo. He is by far the stronger dog. Long story short we got them apart and separated them. Max has a wound under his left eye but otherwise mostly bruises. Neo has one really bad bite wound in his left upper arm and a lot of hair pulled out, scratches and bruises. That leg is going to hurt badly for a while he holds it up. Apparently Max went easier on him than i thought, he could have done a lot of damage if he wanted to. At least those are all the wounds i've found so far.
    They are on antibiotics and painkillers and I washed their wounds with Golden Seal Root tea. Neo was very good about letting me clean and wash his wounds and Max was his usual "go away quit fussing" self. None of it has affected their appetite, dinner was welcomed as usual.
    But where do we go from here? will they get along and let things be or will i have to keep them separate from now on. I wonder if fencing them in and the frustration of not being able to come and go as they want brought this on?

    :doh:

    I am so sorry.

    I'm glad they will both heal and thankful you are there to care for them. Wish I could help with the dynamics between them. I'm no so sure that being fenced upset them though, wonder if they were just so caught up in excitement when your husband arrived then misread eachothers behavior? I have no idea but wish I did, just glad they have you and taking a stab at the situation. What I do know is that my dogs (several different pairs over the years and on at one point 4 at the same time get rowdy when I am on the phone and I hear more ouch yelps during that time than when they get rowdy and horseplay by themselves.

    Sorry Friend, hang in there til you find out more, and awesome you get to spend some time with your Mr. :)

    A neighbor a few houses away had three dogs. Came home from night shift one night and found out he had only two dogs.

    They had settled their dominance quarrel once and for all while he was away....

    Lucy, once had three dogs and added a rescue husky to the mix, older blind in one eye. They had exactly one disagreement, it ended badly for the Husky, and they never had another one. I hope this is how it works for you.

    Sorry to hear about this. Dog fights are very natural, but for us humans they wind up being very dramatic and often very expensive with vet bills. I hope that they have now sorted everything out and won't have any further blood shed. We've been through this several times ourselves and thankfully, the one big brawl has seemed to settle all of the major disputes and we haven't had more problems. I hope you too have crossed over the hump and peace and civility will prevail.

    Here's a couple of better close ups of our new ram's horns. He really has a spectacular set of very WIDE horns. That's the kind of genetics we want in our flock.
