Thanks Bogieb. I've always loved kitties ever since I was a little boy. Thanks Midwinter. My cat Stripey looks like the one you are holding. Thanks for the welcome! Wildwest, that's what I thought too. Here's a picture of her in stealth mode, aiming for the last of my chicken salad sandwich.
I have six cats and not a one of them will eat people food. I have tried fish, chicken etc and no takers.
Poor Charlie had an infection in one of her anal glands. She isn't too fond of the cone Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
Sorry to hear that, I quite certain that dogs would determine that 'the cone' is cruel and inhumane treatment.
I'm fairly certain she does. I have it off now and am just watching her like a hawk Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
Looks like i missed a lot. We have yet another addition to our little crowd in the woods. Last weekend a limping little black dog showed up with a big brindle dog. They were very afraid and would go hide as soon as i 'd come out of the door. We had a really bad hail storm in the afternoon and they both got under the back of the cabin. When i came out the big one disappeared but the other one stayed at a safe distance. Well, long story short when my husband came he slowly got him to come and take some food. We thought he might have been hit by a car he only uses one back leg. Managed to get him to trust me enough to take him to the vet Monday. X-rays showed a whole different story. Teddy ( because he has a teddy bear face) has been shot several times. One bullet is still in his lower belly and another one went clean through the head of the femur. Hip replacement is out of the question just don't have that kind of money these days. However, Lucy has a shattered upper arm and it healed well enough to be held by her muscle that she now doesn't even limp. I am looking for bone building supplements and already have him on glucosamine and Rimadyl (gen.) against the pain. Teddy is amazing, he doesn't want to miss out on anything. He hobbles after the boys where ever they go. and came with us to check on the trail cams. He also learned the doggy doors and doesn't sleep under the back of the cabin any longer. So here is the new addition with the other two boys, Max and Neo (still a little bit jealous) after digging in a mud hole and then washing off in a little creek. Neo in the back, Max drinking to the right and Teddy, still with mud on his nose wondering what I'm up to.
Thanks guys. It's not that i really want all these nice dogs, they don't give me much of a choice. What should i tell a starving dog who limps and is scarred out of his wits? Go on find somewhere else to hang out. most of my neighbors are ranchers and quite a few of them shoot dogs. Just talked to one of them yesterday, he likes dogs and he told me that a lady who lives close by asked him a while ago to shoot her dog because she got pregnant. He refused but heaven help that poor girl and her unborn pups. I have some great news though or at least hope it will turn out great. The rescue that i worked with for so many years was about to close. Members all too old no funding left etc. Finally a young man has stepped up and wants to try to make a go of it. Oh- eh, by young i mean in his fourties and best of all he is a wood burner. Still have to get him addicted though.
