Thats why I'm glad mine is in the basement. The rest of the house (main level) is good at 68-69* basement was 90* this morning... I think Julie was trying to blister the paint...
Pfft, childs play Thank you Beetle-Kill , he's eating the eggs & bacon. Not scarfing, but Thank God he's not wasting away.
Me and the work shop kitty at work, i was the weekend guy this weekend. Gotta work from the shop on Saturdays and get to work from home on Sundays.
Giz and ole Sandy Beach chillin' this monin. Nice to see them getting along. They've been escalating an "attitude" with each other lately, as Sandy is showing her age these days. Lots of issues. Not the least of which is Sandy pee'n & crap'n in the entryway, every night now. We know she spent the first 10 years of her life (in a puppy mill down south) and never went outside. Old habits hard to change, but we did get her to go outside for most of the last 2 years. We're changing up her chow time to see if it helps. She's really smart and learns new stuff pretty quick, so... we keep on keeping on with her. Most of the time, she's happy and full of life.
I'm sorry to hear that! If only we could read their minds. We have a baby gate on our bedroom, dogs get locked IN at night, won't help the sibling strife but might save you picking up the poodle tootsie rolls. Was Giz the dominant one the last 2 years?
She actually has chosen the "best" spot in the house to mess up... if that's even possible. When we got Sandy 2 yrs ago, she immediately established she was the alpha over Giz... though, if Giz got pizzed off, it would end quickly for Sandy... ... thankfully, dogs usually figger it out, but...
My two females get "bitchy" with each other, tried a bunch of stuff to stop it, I think mostly we just got use to seeing when it's coming and have learned to nip it in the bud, I've gotten collateral damage a few times breaking them up, some dogs are just like that I think. Edit "b1tchy" got changed to "ranty"...lol
If Giz wasn't so much bigger, faster and stronger than Sandy, don't think it would be a prob. Don't want to come home to find Giz went full tilt on the ole girl. We'll see how the new chow time works. So far so good. Maybe it'll lower their tensions a bit, who knows...
when ever one on mine has a laps in behavior, I try kenneling. That means at night or when ever I left them home alone. My take is they won't potty in their kennel. Odd, but I took in a toy poodle, older, also named Sandy. She was paper trained. I wanted her to use the outside. That worked for a few years, but then she reverted. What I didn't know is that she was ill, She deteriorated fast. Vet said she had Cushings disease. I even tried diapers on her, but that only made issues with her skin. Vet said all the money I could spend would not help her.
Looks as tho we're off to a gooder start with Sandy, fed her around 11-noon. No issues when we got home from Portland last night (gone 4 hrs) and same over night... no surprises this monin and she made it until 5:15 before waking me up to let her out. Usually it's 4... If this goes for 3 days straight... it's big.
