I am so sorry Beetle-Kill. Remember all the good times. Think of how she played.
I hope this comforts you a little.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there - I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush
    I am the swift-up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there - I did not die.

Shout out to Redneck and his wife for providing an excellent home for Remy!

    We had a blast today!
That is one heck of a drive! We just walked in a few minutes ago.
Left this morning to head to Burton Michigan just before 530am.
I was exhausted, had about 3 hours of sleep, we stopped at my Dad's in Indy to drop
off 2 dogs, i ended up passing out on his couch and then later on moved into
the guest bed. We woke up 4 hours later, jumped up and took off out the door.
Now about 6 hours behind schedule...

Made it to Redneck 's just after 4pm. Stayed for about 2-2.5 hours.
Ate some pizza, played with the dogs, talked about some wood.. Enjoyed our time for sure.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Having that happen right is your arms is very traumatic. However, she was with you and that means a lot. We lost our Mazy due to bloat. She was only 3 at the time, with no prior history. Her ashes are in our bedroom.
I had to call for help to deal with her remains. Too heavy for me in more than one way.

Thanks A Lot Lila Wildcat. I bought a fancy dancy heated cat house for her, tried to show it to her.... Kinda deep and where it bends alot. Anyway, she's been MUCH more gentle w lil one since being able to come and go as she pleases.

Bentley on yet another successful deer recovery. Its no giant, but im mainly a meat hunter.

I didn't even put him on the trail. I just put him down wind of it, and he did the rest. Now mind you, I saw it fall so recovery maaaaaaay be a stretch ;)
It's reaaaaaaaaaly convenient when they die next to the driveway

Thanks Dave. It also reinforces my decision that I did the right thing making her an outdoor cat again. (It's deeper than it looks in the photo, today is 2 days old on it. She's tagged lil one too many times, once from the corner of her eye to her chin, but never this deep. Neither here nor there, even her razor sharp thin front nail scratches leave a sting, we've all been there, luckilly no scars for lil one except her lower calf).

Miss Dixie had a busy day tearing around in the snow, followed by a article search training session. Then dinner and now relaxing by the fire......................

Looks to me like she has settled in very nicely. My Molly settles in on the couch the same way. No animal would expose their torso like that unless they felt absolutely safe.

Often takes years to tame the wild out of feral cats. It can happen, but not always. Poor things. Survival strengths dominate their behavior. Really social cats need to be handled as tiny newborn kitten. The three born here are remarkably tame.
