    Thank You, Dave.

I honestly think I was the lucky one to have such a great dog for 11.5 years.

You mean the "poo machine"? He's doing good. He's getting used to the kennel and behaving himself. And he loves snow, fun to watch him racing around. Thanks for asking.

We got a new Chocolate Lab yesterday, Lucy, the family we got her from bought her 3 weeks ago and with 4 kids the addition was too much to handle.
She is a pure bred but we did not want the papers, just going to be a family pet. Lucy is 12 weeks today, full of energy and smart as a whip. She goes to the door and lets you know she needs to go out, not one accident. She is also already crate trained so that helped her sleep last night. We will only keep her in the crate till she is a little older then she will have free run of the house.

Congratulations! One the one hand I'm thinking the original family wasn't too smart to get a puppy under such circumstances. On the other hand, they were smart enough to realize it in a short time and found a good home for Lucy before she became a chain dog. On the 3rd hand, Lucy was lucky to have come into your household - and vice versa!

A little late to reading all this , but sorry to hear about Diesel TurboDiesel :tears: I’ve got a soft spot for dogs pretty much all shapes sizes and colors. Most days I’d take a dog over a human and I’m sure Diesel was no different!

Here’s hearthside biomass #1 Wyatt :D (named after Wyatt Earp) he’s our rescue. Missing most of his teeth, 99% deaf, Has a bunch of battle scars from days past and a cancer survivor not to mention we really don’t know how old he is. Originally from Alabama we got him around 38 lbs if I remember right just a big saggy wrinkle pile quickly got him eating and all his health trouble straightened out now he’s around 65lbs and loves life! We will rescue again and wish we could rescue more now! 8FB813B8-416C-438A-8859-A1A229FBF738.jpeg
Hearthside biomass #2 Lucy. :D Got her the week after we were married as a puppy so she’s the original baby of the house now 6 weighing in at around 45-50 lbs much smaller than her big brother. Anyway as far as bassets go (I’ve had them since I was little) she is a high strung rocket who loves counter surfing!! Picked them up at the kennel last week after two weeks away she came through the door airborne and hit me in the nose with hers!! Me 6’3” with my boots on Lucy ~15” tall? EE338A6C-1D90-4C10-B7DB-1E9C7CC1E92D.jpeg
I’ll have to try and get some awake “action” pictures of them which is about 2/24 hours a day:rofl:

Lucky Lucy! Don't forget that labs chew until they are two. Give her lots of chew things. We did that with the last three and avoided most of the destruction.

It was nice to meet you and your wife. I wanted to get a pic of all of us and forgot until we were on the road home for an hour or so.
First 2 pics trip home. 3rd trip to daughters and last one we are back home.
We got Remy home and settled in a little more today. Took him to meet some of the grandkids today. He groweled and barked at first then they got out a tennis ball and it was game on.
Last pic he is wore out and sleeping. Forgot to take pics during the fun was to busy. Sorry.
