No such thing as a non shedding dog unless it is one of the hairless (and even then they shed skin shells). They just don't have as much hair to shed.

Yeah, if you are concerned about the amount of exercise you will be able to provide, I would rethink. An intelligent dog that is bored is likely to find lots of trouble to get into or develop undesirable issues. Greyhounds have very short hair, and are couch potatoes. If you have cats though, some can be trouble (not always) and also they need a fenced in area because they will run after anything that moves.

There is always so much to consider when looking at different breeds - even mixes.

Not the best picture, but under this big furry thing, i couldn't take a decent pic. Maple lately has been climbing into my lap, even when I'm on the recliner and just sitting.

An older gentleman I know bought one and subsequently could not give it the amount of attention it needed. He gave it away to my neighbor lady and that sucker has a deep toned bay when he runs at my truck every now and then

I think it's the way she is sitting. Her fur is certainly thicker this time of year with her winter coat. Once i get some batteries I'll check her weight.

Oh, she is living good! No roads, neighbors, and a large open area for her to run. She stays near usually, so when I'm plowing or working outside, she never goes far. She is so happy. Saucy is to, but his little tortilla feet can only handle 5 to 10 minutes running around, then he lets us know when he's done.

Well, we have finally succumbed. After losing Bear back in april and vowing never again, we are about to adapt a new "fur child". The current owners, a young couple with a new baby are bringing her up (they live 3 hours away) tomorrow night. She is 3 1/2 years old and been with them since she was 6 months old. She is being re homed because of a work/life change which would see her living in her crate for many hours each day. They feel it would not be fair to her and were looking to place her with someone who could give her the attention she needs and deserves. In the picture, she is the one on the right with the pink collar. So, we anxiously await the arrival of our new addition "DIXIE"........:thumbs::thumbs:

    I like this:

    A Pet's 10 Commandments...

    1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful

    2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

    3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

    4. Don 't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends,
your entertainment, but I have only you.

    5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

    6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

    7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

    8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me.
Perhaps I'm not getting the right food,I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

    9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

    10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don 't make me face this
alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller,
less joyful experience without God's critters.
